Gargantua sur Guichen

On the recommendation of a colleague, we visited this wonderful restaurant. The cuisine was refined, delicious, and made with high-quality ingredients. The friendly staff (Nora, Amelie, etc.) made for a fantastic experience. We will definitely be back. And thank you to my colleague Philippe for this excellent recommendation.

A lovely atmosphere in a beautiful establishment... top-notch service and quality products... reservations required, and we understand why... we will return as soon as our travels take us through the area....

The staff were very welcoming and kind. However, I was dissatisfied with the food for two reasons: when I first ordered a dish specifying "without meat" (there were no vegetarian options besides a pizza), I expected the cook to adjust the order accordingly. Instead, I received FIVE pasta dishes... exactly the same number as on the plate with meat. When I ordered the only vegetarian option, the veggie pizza, I received a soggy crust, which is understandable considering the pizza was soaked... I had rivers of liquid on my plate just by lifting a portion! I'm disappointed with the kitchen staff. Even in the most modest restaurant, as the head chef, you have a duty to ensure that everyone has enough to eat. Does the chef have a grudge against vegetarians? I enjoyed all other aspects of this restaurant, especially the atmosphere and decor, well done! Best of luck to you!

Excellent restaurant. The cuisine is varied and delicious. Efficient service. Both the main courses and desserts were excellent. Pleasant atmosphere and decor. Very reasonable prices for the quality and location.

A very beautiful building—gargantuan, sorry, I had to say it 😅—impressive, rather Venetian decor, right down to the glass mosaic tiles on the ceiling... the noise level isn't as high as some reviews suggest; apparently, the problem has been fixed—plants on the ceiling. That said, the service was very pleasant, professional, and friendly, the food delicious—my gnocchi were perfect—the ambiance with a variety of Italian songs, in short, it's a success in my opinion. It's off the beaten path and breaks away from the somewhat uniform chain restaurants... P.S. Be careful with the water bottle; it's very pretty but it opens in the middle... 😉 We'll be back! 😁

If you want to enjoy a delicious meal from aperitif to dessert, Gargantua is the best choice. Special mention to Crystal and Adrien who provide exceptional service. Thank you, we'll be back.

Great place, nice setting, generous and tasty dishes, and above all, helpful, attentive staff who offer good advice and are very friendly.

First and foremost, a huge thank you to the waitresses. They were all so friendly and cheerful. You can tell they enjoy working at this establishment, and it shows in the quality of their service. I thoroughly enjoyed the pasta with gorgonzola. It was exactly what I was hoping for. The prices were very reasonable for the quality. I will definitely be back.

I recommend it 200%, it's simply delicious and the service is exceptional 🤩🤩🤩
