Golden Promise - Whisky Bar sur Paris

I really enjoyed this cocktail bar offering creations based on Whiskey, Tequila, Mezcal or Gin for example. I liked the lounge atmosphere a lot, dim lighting, armchairs, sofas, everything is designed to have a good time. Magnificent whiskey and sake bar! They also offer some rums and gins. I discovered some very good whiskeys at their place thanks to their Fly menu which allows you to taste three different whiskies: the waiter takes the time to explain where each one comes from, how it is put into barrels and the history of the distillery behind with presentation of the bottles. The atmosphere is chic without being too extravagant, a happy medium of cozy and classy. They have two different cellars: the first that we come across "the young whiskey cellar" which already includes a very beautiful and wide selection of whiskeys from all regions; the other cellar is "the lounge/VIP cellar" with exceptional whiskeys that can sometimes exceed 50 years! I can only recommend it for lovers of whisky, sake or rum. I go back there from time to time to discover new whiskeys. The prices are OK for the quality of the alcohol, the support of the servers and the environment of the bar.

I had a mixed experience. The bar is incredible and I visited several times and also purchased several bottles. I had a great time during those visits. However, on the last night of my trip, the security locked the door at least half an hour before the published closing time. I took a taxi to get there and the security person on duty late on the night of July 27 would not even acknowledge that a customer was there waiting. This left a very sour taste after having visited several times, brought friends, and purchased several drams and bottles. The bare minimum would have been basic acknowledgement from the security guard and updating the hours on the website if the bar did not have the intention of operating within them. This was not like I was showing up at closing time. Really unfortunate that a pleasant experience was tarnished in this way.

Wow! The best selection of vintage high end whiskies, more than you can possibly imagine. This is a collection that takes a lifetime to curate. I can’t imagine anywhere else in the world that has this selection. The setting is a whisky lovers dream and our bartender, Salvatore, was so knowledgeable and passionate about whisky. If you love whisky you MUST come here!!

Discovery of the Golden Promise for a whiskey tasting. After a discovery of the place by our guide, you will be seated in a table, with the comfort, space, and subdued lights that go hand in hand with a tasting. Once the choice has been made on the very long menu, it's time for tasting, with a large carafe of water of course. Nothing to complain about, the price is high but in line with the high-end service, you don't come here to taste famous whiskeys. To do again!

As a whiskey lover it was a great experience. When I returned from my trip, I thought I would work hard to earn money.

Exquisite whiskey bar! A huge selection of malts and caters to different price points. The menu and choice is simply stunning. It's really worth the visit for whiskey lovers and the decor/location is great, too.
