We had an excellent stay at the Grand Hôtel Roi René. The room was very nicely decorated with the added bonus of L'Occitane products. The plus: a large terrace! The service was excellent. When we arrived, we were greeted by Lisa who was very professional, friendly and gave good advice. The restaurant left us with a memorable memory, the dishes being equally succulent as each other, from starter to dessert, and the service was efficient and pleasant. We hope to return soon for more pleasant moments in Aix!

Very well located for a short weekend in Aix, a "royal" breakfast with very good products for all tastes, we enjoyed ourselves, the staff is very welcoming and helpful, we will come back with pleasure 😊

Nous avons découverts le lieu en janvier 2024 et nous avions envie d y revenir cet été. Quelle n’a pas été notre étonnement de constater qu une augmentation de 10% avait été appliquée. Nous constatons qu aujourd’hui le menu est donc fixé à 55€ contre 50€ en janvier 2024. Pourquoi ??

Pros: We were upgraded from a classic room which was nice of reception (room 327). Room quiet as faces pool but there is some noise from adjoining rooms. Location on main road so easy car access. Breakfast offerings good except no toaster which is pretty standard in Western hotels. Had some lovely cakes and good range of fruits. Location right near old town so can walk to all restaurants, shops, cafes etc. Bed comfortable. Lots of cupboard space in room. Cons: Room old and dated with scuff marks on walls etc, dirty carpet and minimal light. Lots of mould growing above shower. No balcony or much interaction with outside world due to small window so it's quite depressing. Had asked to book car into garage only to be told that they were full when i arrived which is annoying. Gym small with not many weights or machines and poor AC. Pool area small for size of hotel. Pillows on bed too hard. It also felt like an old folks home at time being the base for Viking boat tours so there were a lot of grey nomads.
