Nous avons découverts le lieu en janvier 2024 et nous avions envie d y revenir cet été. Quelle n’a pas été notre étonnement de constater qu une augmentation de 10% avait été appliquée. Nous constatons qu aujourd’hui le menu est donc fixé à 55€ contre 50€ en janvier 2024. Pourquoi ??

Pleasant room even in classic, well-stocked breakfast and above all the staff is charming, efficient and always available, well done

Pros: We were upgraded from a classic room which was nice of reception (room 327). Room quiet as faces pool but there is some noise from adjoining rooms. Location on main road so easy car access. Breakfast offerings good except no toaster which is pretty standard in Western hotels. Had some lovely cakes and good range of fruits. Location right near old town so can walk to all restaurants, shops, cafes etc. Bed comfortable. Lots of cupboard space in room. Cons: Room old and dated with scuff marks on walls etc, dirty carpet and minimal light. Lots of mould growing above shower. No balcony or much interaction with outside world due to small window so it's quite depressing. Had asked to book car into garage only to be told that they were full when i arrived which is annoying. Gym small with not many weights or machines and poor AC. Pool area small for size of hotel. Pillows on bed too hard. It also felt like an old folks home at time being the base for Viking boat tours so there were a lot of grey nomads.

Location, service, bar catering at the top. I recommend to discover Aix

This is the first time we have come to this palace. Very friendly staff. Very quiet hotel and very generous breakfast. Very high standard cuisine. We will come back, that's for sure.

We stayed as a family at the MGallery Grand Hôtel Roi René this summer to discover the city. The location was ideal, and all the staff were amazing. The breakfast was generous, with a wide choice of local products to discover, including the famous calissons. The welcome in the children's room was magical, they were absolutely delighted. A big thank you also to Mehdi at reception for his valuable advice and great flexibility! I highly recommend this hotel!

Perfect, warm and attentive welcome. Hearty breakfast with calissons, Madam Sir! Fruits and salty dishes to order, ratatouille omelette and everything. Clean swimming pool open from 9am to 8pm and heated to 25 degrees, what more could you ask for?

This is an exceptionally good hotel. We booked for 6 nights and stayed for 10. We moved from basic room to terrace room and they are all great. Service: from front desk to restaurant to housekeeping is excellent - super friendly and helpful. Getting the breakfast included is highly recommended- really wide range of excellent food. Having a pool is essential (August is 30+ C temperature) and it’s a good size and well kept. Can be a little busy but you can get a lounger with a little wait at peak times. Apart from room service one night we did not eat at restaurant (apart from breakfast) Food looks good. Only issue is cost - room and breakfast is definitely worth it. Poor Euro to £ rate makes France expensive, and Aix is an expensive part of France. Basic Rose is €54 which is top end restaurant expensive. Monoprix and Casino near by for ‘take outs’ This is a great hotel to gently explore Aix from. Standout feature is the quality of the staff.
