I would recommend this place for a sweet treat with a view over the cathedral. The basque cheesecake was well done, less cheesy than some, more on the sweet side, but very pleasant! The cherry basque cake was very good. They also have a good variety of coffee, though I must say that the soy milk they used was not the best. The service was a bit slow, but not excessively so.

Great pastry shop, but try it when it's served by men. The young woman prefers to be on her phone. We were the only ones on the terrace and waited 10-15 minutes to be served our two pastries. This isn't the first time we've been disappointed with their service. We live in the neighborhood and are particularly fond of this pastry shop.

One of the best cakes I've ever tasted! "Taste buds are out!" at Gvella! A very warm welcome from the team; you immediately feel at ease in this lovely shop. We enjoyed a delicious break on the terrace facing the Cathedral with hot chocolate, tea, and coffee: it was perfect. The Basque cakes (cream and cherry) are absolutely divine, undoubtedly one of the best I've ever tasted! A must-visit for the quality of the products and the friendly service.

19/07/2026: We had a wonderful time. The meal was excellent; everything was delicious. The meat was incredibly tender and melted in your mouth. The pig's trotters were a real treat. The melon was perfectly sweet and had a succulent flavor. The tripe was exquisite, with no acidity. The chocolate mousse was smooth and thick—truly fantastic. The staff is dynamic and incredibly friendly. The chef is attentive to the well-being and satisfaction of his customers. This is an excellent restaurant.

17/07/2026: 100% recommend. A cosy bistro in Bayonne. Isa runs this amazing place who welcomes her guests with open arms and a smile.
05/07/2026: We had lunch as a family; we had made a reservation, but it wasn't recorded. The food was excellent: delicious, fresh, and plentiful. However, the service was a disaster: the waiter was unfriendly and even made comments about our choices. It was as if not ordering dessert was a crime! We used to come here regularly, but this meal will be our last! The service is an integral part of the price, and this lack of courtesy left us with a very poor impression of this establishment.
