Ladies and gentlemen, let's get straight to the point, you MUST stop and enjoy some wonderful food at this restaurant.
Words will certainly be difficult to express our satisfaction with this establishment, but I will still try to convey it.
We have already returned there 4 times in one week, which is already a good sign, even a very good one.
Let's take it step by step, first you will land in a bucolic, almost magical setting in the heart of the mountain, in a small village typical of the Basque country, with its quiet little streets and its beautiful red and white houses.
From the terrace, a reassuring, soothing view, the impression of being in the heart of nature, breathing the fresh air of a delicious moment of relaxation and calm.
Secondly, the welcome… well… the word Perfect will I think be used a lot in this comment.
A welcome as we like them, a smile, a joie de vivre, a sense of service and “to please” which almost makes you want to work with the team.
Always the right word, a clear and clear explanation of the menu, a sharing of the restaurant's values such as the proximity of the products, a cheese that comes from barely 5 minutes away, like the jam, a sharing of Basque culture and typical products highlighted.
Let’s get to the heart of the matter with what we tasted.
Once again, I have no words other than perfect to write. We literally had a blast every time we went there. Our special mentions go to the hake dish and polenta, the Tahitian vanilla crème brûlée and finally, the famous tiramisu with cherry jam. Everything is delicious, homemade, quality, I told you… perfect!
I had to take the time to carefully write this well-deserved comment, I do not regret it and would even like to say even more.
We would therefore like to thank you very sincerely for contributing to a perfect vacation with these little moments of happiness and pleasure. Without forgetting the valuable advice on activities to do, farms to visit and even other quality restaurants to try.

A restaurant not to be missed if you pass through Ixtassou! Everything is super good, cooked with care and served with a smile! Smoked trout as a starter, line-raised hake and a gourmet coffee, a treat all round 🙃❤️

Very good restaurant and very welcoming
We were made very welcome despite the fact that we had not booked and this was in the middle of the night fair.
The meal was very good. Special mention for the cherry tiramisu.
All the staff take great care.
Honestly, I highly recommend it if you go that way.

Best duck magret on the Landes/Basque coast so far. And I’ve tried most of them ;-) The confit was just as good apparently. Nice village terrace with vineyards on one side the beach just over the hill on the other. The service was friendly and the nice local Irouléguy wines were properly chilled. A neighborhood or this case village gem.
