This restaurant primarily offers small Japanese dishes, such as takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and other fried foods. The food is tasty and of good quality, even though the restaurant is only open during mealtimes.
There is seating upstairs and downstairs, but the stairs are typical of narrow alleyways near Japanese restaurants: narrow and inconvenient for some. The takoyaki illustrations in the restaurant are very humorous and add to the charm of the atmosphere.
The service is friendly and patient, and the staff takes good care of children who come to eat. Even though the street is full of takoyaki restaurants, Happa Tei stands out for its quality and excellent value. Cash payments are accepted, even for small bills.

A fun experience with the open kitchen right in the middle of the restaurant. Remember to wash your clothes afterward 🙂 The pork okonomiyaki was delicious.
The gyoza and sweet potato fritters were good.
I wasn't as keen on the fish-shaped waffles filled with red bean paste. I've had much better.
Efficient and friendly service.

An immersive restaurant experience where you dine right alongside the chef.
I go to this restaurant for the takoyaki, which are truly exceptional. It's a perfect combination of flavors. :) A little tip: when they say it's hot, it's really, really hot. Wait a good 5 minutes before eating. ;)

Excellent Japanese restaurant on Rue Sainte-Anne in Paris. A chef prepares the dishes right in front of you. You can eat at the counter and enjoy the show. The prices are more than reasonable. We had a wonderful meal. We'll definitely be back!

My friend and I had a wonderful experience. The setting is authentic, the food simple yet delicious, the service quick and efficient, and the prices reasonable. If you're ever in the capital, I highly recommend a visit.

I was expecting excellent takoyaki, but it was a disappointment. I've had better in the area. The sauces were far too overpowering compared to the takoyaki themselves, and they seemed to have been cooked and then reheated.
The service was adequate but could have been friendlier. The prices are reasonable. The counter seating is quite pleasant if you can tolerate the noise and cooking smells.
