We received a very warm welcome, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Given the heatwave, we ordered the veggie salad from the Lunch Menu. What a disappointment! The plate was tiny and looked like a starter. One of the waitresses even went to the kitchen to check that there hadn't been a mistake with the portion size. At €15 with dessert, it's expensive for a menu without a main course. We should have ordered the daily special. What a shame.

We arrived via the sunny terrace because summer officially starts today 😎😎 The waitress told us the entrance wasn't that way but on the other side. We apologized and asked if we should go back out and walk around the parking lot to the entrance, just to see her answer. She said "no," but didn't seem to grasp the seriousness of her statement… not a very pleasant welcome.
Everyone else got chips, but not us. Maybe because we only ordered a carafe of water?
The ribeye steak was very good. The knife wasn't sharp, but it wasn't a big deal. Just a shame. A little more customer care, please 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 (6 out of 19 tables on the terrace were occupied, so the service was pretty good)

The food is good, but above all, the staff provides truly top-notch service. They are efficient, friendly, and speak English. We lost a glasses case, and one of the servers ran after us in the parking lot to return it. Such warm service is rare in restaurants these days, and it really makes a difference! Thank you.

The waitress was very professional and pleasant. The food was very good, and even though we waited a long time for our meal, the waitress remained very professional.

Very nice atmosphere at Hippopotamus, warm welcome with quality chips to accompany the aperitif. The white sangria is good, but if you remove the four ice cubes, only half the glass is left, not very good value for money and portion size. The main courses are very good, I loved the steak and eggs. I was told it would be a generous portion, but it was just normal for me 🤣. The duck breast was good, and the sautéed potatoes with it... I'd love the recipe! I found them perfect, thank you for everything.
