We had a very pleasant time at this restaurant, and the meal was excellent. The beef was very tender with a choice of sauces. We finished our meal with a generously portioned gourmet coffee. The service was quick and the waiters were very friendly.

While a previous experience had been satisfactory, but a year ago the piece of meat chosen by my wife had turned out to be tough and fibrous, almost inedible, this time the dishes were of much better quality.

The staff were pleasant but a bit overwhelmed despite a reasonable number of customers. The value for money has declined compared to a few years ago; the portions are smaller and the prices higher… typical of the times! The baked potatoes were lukewarm, even cold in the center. But we still had a pleasant time.

First time at this Hippopotamus restaurant and we loved it! We were served by Arthur, who was helpful, welcoming, and remarkably kind ☺️ Just a minor point about the portions, which were a little small for big eaters, but otherwise, it was perfect!

28/02/2026: What a superb discovery! This somewhat hidden restaurant in Ostwald is a real gem. You don't expect to find cuisine of this caliber when you walk through the door… The menu was absolutely divine: flavorful, perfectly balanced dishes, beautifully presented and prepared with high-quality ingredients. Every bite was a delight. You can taste the passion and expertise in the kitchen. The service was equally remarkable: warm, friendly, and attentive… You truly feel welcomed with kindness. And the value for money is simply incredible for such an experience. An address I wholeheartedly recommend—we'll be back very soon!
