I have rather fond memories of the place, which makes this experience quite disappointing. The welcome was adequate, without being particularly warm. However, several points were truly problematic. The cleanliness of the restrooms needs improvement: a very unpleasant odor, resembling a public toilet, and a malfunctioning fixture, which is unacceptable. As for the service, one of the waiters was rather cold and unfriendly, which didn't help in making the experience feel welcome. Regarding the food, the taste was good, but two out of three dishes arrived lukewarm or even cold, which clearly spoiled the experience. It's a shame because the food is good, but between the service, the temperature of the dishes, and the state of the restrooms, the overall impression is mixed.

I'm giving the service a good rating. As for the food, I was really expecting something much better. The quality of the meat was fine, but the cooking wasn't great; everyone at the table felt the same. I ordered my meat rare and it arrived well-done.

Excellent family time. Very pleasant and attentive waiter. We go there from time to time and everything is always the same, nothing to complain about.

Sometimes it's good, sometimes not so much. Same goes for the service and reception!

Nothing special to report. Overall, everything went well. ⚠️ WARNING. When paying by credit card, you're often asked if you'd like to round up the amount for various reasons. I didn't pay attention, as I was enjoying a nice meal, etc. Be careful, because my bill went from €75.60 to €80, which is €4.40 more!

Fantastic family evening! 😊 My first time at the Hippopotamus in La Vigie, and honestly… we left feeling absolutely thrilled! 😄 I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the staff is fantastic, and we were served by a very friendly young man, always smiling. We even chatted for a bit, it was so natural and genuine… it was a real pleasure and makes us want to come back! 👍 And a little unexpected moment 😄 thank you to the chefs… and especially for the free cigarette for my dad! 😂 We weren't expecting it, but it made the evening memorable! Honestly, if we could give more than 5 stars, I would have added them without hesitation! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐➕ See you soon!
