We had a very good experience at Hippopotamus during our journey. The service was pleasant from start to finish, and despite the crowds, it was very well organized. Special mention goes to Maëlyss, who looked after our table: smiling, attentive, and very professional. We were told she was still in training, but honestly, you hardly notice it because she handles customers so well. It's rare to receive such a warm welcome at a motorway service area, and it deserves to be highlighted. Thank you again for your kindness and good humor; we will gladly return!

The meal was very good, the welcome was very pleasant too, we were served by the waitress Véronique who is very smiling and welcoming, if we pass by again we will come back without hesitation.

14/05/2026: The setting is extremely pleasant. The food is more than good and plentiful.
03/05/2026: A lovely little restaurant with a very warm welcome, offering excellent cuisine. Well-balanced and truly generous menus. Very good value for money.

08/08/2024: We stopped to take a break, have a coffee and stretch our legs. The gas station in the service area is ESSO, it usually has good prices. The cafeteria, very good. You can choose the coffee in different vending machines. There is a large store with a wide variety of products. Very clean toilets. Outside there is a covered area with tables to eat in case of bad weather.
06/08/2024: Warm welcome for a kind young man and lady. I was quickly taken care of. I had the breakfast menu for 6€10 and not disappointed. The maxi pain au chocolat is very good and the hot chocolate (small size) with whipped cream is great (although a little too hot 😂). I recommend going there if you need to take a break at the Saint Rambert d'Albon Est rest area!! I am attaching a photo of my set.
