Histoire sans faim sur Montauroux

We had high expectations for this restaurant given the reviews and overall rating, and we were very disappointed. The restaurant is very poorly located; there's no parking, and you have to park down below, much further away. Furthermore, the restaurant is situated on a very busy road, and the tables are right next to it, making it impossible to have any peace and quiet in the evening due to the noise of the cars and headlights. The waitress was friendly, but the service was very slow. We arrived at 9:30 PM and by 10:15 PM we had only received our can of soda. There were also no snacks to eat while waiting for our starters; considering the wait, that would have been the bare minimum. I ordered a Coke, which I received with a glass and a single can of soda—no lemon, nothing to enhance it. As for the restaurant's exterior, it looks more like a snack bar than a restaurant, and there are very few tables, so reservations are essential. As for the atmosphere, the restaurant is next to a grocery store that was full of young people on scooters who were clearly disturbing the restaurant's customers by honking, shouting, etc. There was also a disturbance in front of the restaurant with shouting and threats, which required the police to intervene in the middle of a meal. So, I'd say the atmosphere was so-so… To finish, the hamburger was good, the fries seemed to be homemade like the burger, which somewhat justified the wait. However, the prices were high for all the dishes and appetizers, and unfortunately, given the overall atmosphere, the quality of the food wasn't enough to leave me with a good memory.

We went to this restaurant to celebrate Beaujolais Nouveau, and it was absolutely delicious. The dishes were beautifully presented, generous, and above all, everything was excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We will definitely be back!

We stumbled upon this little restaurant by chance, and what a pleasant surprise! A warm welcome, even for my dog!! The meal was flawless, as was the service. We had a lovely time in this beautiful restaurant. The decor is tastefully decorated. You immediately feel very comfortable. The food is delicious, the presentation is very meticulous, and the owner is truly friendly! Everything is perfect for a wonderful time. We'll be back very, very soon!

A warm and welcoming place, convivial atmosphere and very good, unfussy food prepared and served with care. Two friendly sisters manage and cook, one of their young adorable daughters greeted us in her pajamas to ask if we had a reservation (we didn't) and then returned to entertaining another guest's infant; the people at the next table struck up a conversation...by evenings end we felt like we'd been guests in someone's home. We are New Yorkers and usually keep to ourselves, but somehow it all worked. This was our favorite meal during 3 weeks in France.

My husband and I are staying in Callian for the week and found this restaurant via Google maps. The reviews looked good and the pictures were enticing, so I DMed the restaurant on Instagram to make a last minute reservation. From the second we arrived, we were treated like family. The experience was so intimate and lovely. The two sisters (we never caught their names!) that own the restaurant took breaks between cooking / running the show to chat with us and make us feel so welcome. It was truly our favorite meal of our entire week in France. On top of it all, the food was absolutely delicious! We had the Octopus special, Filet de St Pierre, Tagliata de Boef, and finished off with the most incredible crème brûlée. Please don’t miss this place if you are in or around Montauroux!

Very cozy place! The hostess served us, so sincere and kind! She even gave us two cocktails as a gift. Great music.
