Hostellerie du Doron sur Beaufort

A very nice hotel in a beautiful village. We slept in a room with bunk beds, which wasn't very practical if you get up during the night. The bathroom was okay, except for the sink, which was too big to wash your face with because the faucet was too large. And the room was very small; it's really just for sleeping, a dormitory. We ate at the restaurant, which was a bit pricey for what it was, but acceptable. The real downside was at breakfast. You have the choice between the €15 buffet or a coffee or something else from the menu. My husband and I don't eat breakfast, but my daughter wanted to have breakfast at the buffet. The woman made it clear that if we didn't choose the buffet, we would have to stay on the other side of the room and leave my 12-year-old daughter to fend for herself in case we tried to steal a croissant. I found that very inappropriate. Apart from that, the rest of the staff was very good.

A very good experience with a 2-person dorm-style room (a super dorm, with a walk-in shower, no less 😉) which was a lifesaver. The bar and restaurant are a great place to socialize and serve delicious local cuisine. The staff were very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. In short, we'd definitely go back.

We had a wonderful stay at Maison DORON in the heart of Beaufort. The room was comfortable, clean, and quiet (the towel rack was a nice touch), the bedding was high quality, and the setting was lovely. A special mention also goes to the excellent, refined, and delicious dinner; we highly recommend it.
