Hotel de France Restaurant sur Loches

The room is very beautiful and clean, and the balcony is stunning! However, the bathroom needs updating; the floor tiles are coming loose. A big thumbs up for the four coat hooks, which provide plenty of space for clothes! Also great is the small white cabinet for toiletries. The location is also excellent.

Despite its lack of modern amenities (worn carpet, faded wallpaper, minimal insulation), the hotel possesses a certain old-fashioned charm. A listed historical monument in the heart of Loches, the owners are delightful and have been trying to keep the business afloat since 2016 (numerous legal issues have prevented the renovation work from being carried out).

A charming hotel with character and history. Comfortable beds and air conditioning. This is our second time in Loches, and we're sticking with the same hotel. The owners are incredibly friendly, genuinely care about customer satisfaction, and value a personal touch. It's a world away from those chain hotels where you're just a cash cow. We spent three nights at the Hôtel de France in Loches from July 23rd to 26th, 2026, and were very satisfied with our stay. The welcome, comfort, and tranquility were excellent. The breakfasts were of high quality.

We were incredibly lucky to have the entire venue for our civil wedding. The weather was perfect, allowing us to fully enjoy the charming courtyard. This hotel is wonderful, right in the heart of the beautiful town of Loches, close to the market, the upper town, and the cafes. It's a slightly old-fashioned hotel, where the owners welcome you with a delicate and delightful touch, with genuine warmth. Exactly the kind of place I love, far from the chain hotels where everything is "polished." It's the ideal spot, with its peaceful courtyard, to relax and unwind. And the meals are delicious. I'll be back! What utter charm!
