In Casa sur Calvi

The setting was superb. My mother and I arrived for lunch without a reservation and were seated right on the beach with a fantastic view – perfect. The prices are very reasonable considering the location. However, we were bothered by a salesperson not affiliated with the restaurant who was very pushy despite our refusals. Unfortunately, there were no Corsican desserts on the menu.

Great place with a view of Calvi and practically right on the water, the service is top-notch! The gyoza and sushi were delicious.

The evening started off rather well, with very good sushi as a starter, and the main courses (burger and ceviche) were very well prepared and cooked. Then came dessert... Breton shortbread with lemon cream and strawberries... the shortbread was completely soggy, far from the expected crispness of a Breton shortbread... it seemed to have been made several days ago, it was stale and... tiny... all this for 13 euros! We informed the waitress, who didn't seem to care. At 11:20 pm, at the end of our meal, we asked for a digestif and a cocktail... which the waitress refused to serve us on orders from her manager because the establishment was about to close. Of course, there was no gesture of goodwill when it came time to pay the bill, and all this on July 15th, with absent owners and employees who are damaging the reputation of this Calvi establishment. We are locals, but we won't be going back. It's a shame.

Hey team! Our summer stay has come to an end. We'll be back soon after August. As always, we love coming here. We've been coming for a few years now. The welcome was perfect. The service was attentive and friendly. I love the menu. My wife discovered the Chuck Flap on the BBQ… it was amazing. Otherwise, there were classic dishes like tartare and calamari 🦑 🤤. The owner is lovely. The atmosphere is very relaxed. No loud music. More of a mellow lounge vibe. And the sunset 🌅 was breathtaking. In short, have a great season and see you soon 👋
