25/09/2026: First day in Paris and came across this place to eat lunch. Our waiter was great, very attentive and friendly. We got the fish and chips & chicken and chips and it hit the spot. Cappuccino was nice and well priced. Very happy with our choice!
21/09/2026: L’Horizon Cafe is such a lovely place to experience the charm of Parisian café culture in Saint-Germain. Located right on Rue de Rennes, it’s incredibly convenient if you’re staying at one of the many hotels in the area and is also just a short walk from the Aramis metro station, making it an easy stop while exploring Paris.
A special shoutout to Ludovic, who was absolutely amazing. We loved him! The entire team was genuinely kind, welcoming, and especially wonderful with children. That warmth really stood out to us throughout our visit. The French hospitality we experienced here was lovely and made the meal feel even more memorable.
For anyone visiting Paris from the U.S. or another culture where restaurant service tends to move quickly, one thing to know is that French café service is intentionally slower-paced. The servers aren’t going to hover over you or rush you through your meal, and that can initially feel unusual if you’re accustomed to American-style service. Once you understand that it’s part of the French lifestyle, it becomes much easier to relax, enjoy your surroundings, and embrace the experience.
As for what to order, the Sarti Spritz was a favorite, and the charcuterie board was excellent. We also really enjoyed the salads and several of the other dishes we tried. The menu is quite varied, so there are plenty of choices whether you’re looking for a light lunch, drinks and a board, or a full meal.
For travelers looking for a Paris café in Saint-Germain, especially somewhere close to Rue de Rennes, Saint-Germain-Odéon, hotels, and the Paris Metro, L’Horizon Cafe is a beautiful place to slow down, enjoy good food and drinks, and take in that quintessential Parisian atmosphere.
