A super quiet place to have lunch when you go to Versailles, off the tourist track, with reasonable prices, pleasant service, and tasty food with the variety you'd expect from a small boulangerie.

During our trip to France in June 2026, my family and I discovered Chez Juliette in Versailles, and this pastry shop was one of the highlights of our stay. Everything we tasted was excellent: the croissants, pain au chocolat, and all the other pastries were fresh, flavorful, and prepared with great care. What particularly impressed me was their Basque cake. If you've never tried one, you're missing out on something exceptional. It's a traditional specialty of the Basque Country. It might not look like much in the display case, but it's absolutely delicious. It became one of my favorite pastries of our entire trip to France. The service was just as remarkable as the pastries. As an American who enjoys speaking French, I really appreciated that the staff, and especially one of Juliette's daughters, took the time to chat with me in French. This small gesture made our visit even more enjoyable. If you're visiting the Palace of Versailles and looking for excellent pastries, I highly recommend stopping by Chez Juliette. And if you'd like to discover a specialty from another region of France, don't hesitate to try the Basque cake. Five stars without hesitation. I will gladly return on my next visit to Versailles.

Juillet Café was one of our favourite food stops in Versailles and the perfect way to start the day. We were looking for a classic French breakfast rather than somewhere overly touristy, and this café delivered exactly that. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service was friendly, and it felt like a place where locals would happily begin their morning. The absolute standout was the chocolate croissant (pain au chocolat). It was easily the best one we had during our time in France. The pastry was beautifully light, buttery and flaky, with crisp outer layers that shattered with each bite. Inside was a generous amount of rich, smooth chocolate that wasn't overly sweet and balanced perfectly with the buttery pastry. It was one of those simple foods that reminds you why French bakeries have such an incredible reputation. The coffee was excellent too, making it an ideal breakfast stop before exploring the Palace of Versailles. Everything arrived fresh, and you could tell the ingredients were of high quality. Sometimes the simplest meals end up being the most memorable, and this was certainly one of them. What really completed the experience was the welcoming service. The staff were friendly, efficient and happy to help, creating a warm atmosphere that made us want to linger a little longer before heading off for a busy day of sightseeing. If you're visiting Versailles and looking for a great breakfast or morning coffee, I highly recommend Juillet Café. Don't leave without ordering the chocolate croissant—it was genuinely outstanding and one of the best pastries we enjoyed on our entire trip. Sometimes it's the simple experiences that become the most memorable, and Juillet Café was exactly that.

We had breakfast at this cute cafe on way to Versailles. The cakes, croissants and sandwiches were all very fresh and the lady serving us was very helpful.

Very friendly welcome. The terrace is quiet and perfectly situated in the sun-exposed area. I highly recommend it.

Simple, fresh food made daily and served with care. I enjoyed a freshly prepared baguette with a cappuccino, and everything tasted delicious. The location is perfect for sitting outside, relaxing, and people-watching. This seems to be a popular area filled with charming little cafés and a favorite meeting spot for locals and visitors alike. A lovely place to take a break and soak in the atmosphere.

We came here with friends and the sandwiches were delicious. The lady who took care of us was also very sweet :) Everything was great, thank you so much :)

The salmon sandwich was amazing, especially the bread. The lady at the registry was so sweet. The experience overall was quite nice, the “paris-cafe experience” you would expect to have. A must-try spot after visiting the versaille palace :)
