Komatsubaki sur Paris

Great experience but a few things missing to make it a 5/5 for the price tag. I came to Komatrubaki for dinner with a reservation which I highly recommend doing as I believe it is necessary. The restaurant has two floors with the bathroom being on the first and main dining area on the second. The dining area was clean, well decorated and welcoming but the bathroom on the other hand was surprisingly dirty in comparison, with toilet paper on the floor and an empty soap container. When we came in, everyone was seated at the bar. The chef and sous-chef were preparing their mise en place. A few positive things to note were the fact that they used fresh ingredients such as freshly grated wasabi which is expected at this price point. The next point that took away from the experience was the very slow service from the staff. Although the chef was preparing the courses in a timely and responsive manner, it took a long time for us to receive our beverages. Everyone, including those that came later had already received theirs and the first few courses had already come out until we finally got out beverages. Afterwards, the waiters did not refill our water or ask if we wanted to order any other drinks. Other than those two points which unfortunately bring down my total assessment for Komatrubaki, the food was quite flavorful and light and the service from the head chef was friendly and attentive. There were a few dishes that I felt were slightly overcooked and under seasoned but overall the dishes were very good. All in all, I hope Komatrubaki takes a look into these issues in order for future guests to really receive a 5 star experience. If you staying in the area and want some good Japanese food, I would recommend this spot but I would not go out of my way to come here.

I had an exceptional experience at this restaurant. Every detail was flawless—from the seasonal touches and meticulous craftsmanship to the beautiful presentation and thoughtfully chosen tableware. Most importantly, the food itself was outstanding. Even though I dined alone, the chef and those around me were warm and welcoming, which made the experience especially enjoyable and memorable. I’m truly glad I discovered this place during my trip to Paris, and I highly recommend it.

I would rate it better 3 and 4. Service and atmosphere was nice. The tuna was excellent, but unfortunately most of the other dishes were quite underwhelming. We also waited around 45 minutes for the first starter, with long gaps between courses throughout the meal. Overall, the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations.

We tried this restaurant on our special day and it was a real experience. It was one of the best sushis I had. You get to see the chef while eating, the menu is chosen by the chef. You get 1 amuse bouche, 1 soup, 1 sashimi, 12 sushi, 1 soup, 1 dessert on the omakase menu. I loved it even though I am not a very fish person.

Combining quality and tradition, it's an exceptional place, with perhaps the best sushi in Paris.

My first time experiencing a traditional kaiseki meal and it was unforgettable. Every ingredient and slice of fish was prepared right in front of us with such elegance and precision. The presentation was beautiful: the plates and bowls were so delicately designed that it really elevated the whole experience. The dessert was especially satisfying, I was still savoring it even after finishing. The sake tasting was thoughtfully curated from sweet to more bitter notes, which made it really enjoyable alongside the courses. The chefs were also very friendly, one even asked me how the food was in Chinese, and I ended up replying in Japanese haha. Overall, 10/10 experience. Highly recommend!

I highly recommend trying this restaurant; the food is absolutely delicious, and the servers are incredibly friendly. I had a wonderful evening. The menu is fantastic, and the price is well worth the chef's skill. I can't wait to go back.

This is without a doubt one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. From beginning to end, everything was sublime, to the point that I shed tears! The service was impeccable, and the chef is definitely very talented. We experienced a truly timeless moment. Thank you a thousand times over!
