Quite disappointed with the onigiris, the rice is not seasoned and the stuffing is almost non-existent, paying 8€ for two balls of rice is quite disappointing, plus the rice did not hold together so it was difficult to eat with your hands and unthinkable while walking. As for service, the ladies are adorable and the place is very cute. A little more generosity in the stuffing of your Onigiris please. I had an onigiri with salmon fleur de sel and a Japanese-style tuna mayo.

What a charming little tea house with such a friendly staff and cozy athmosphere! A tempting menu, traditional matcha beautifully served from pretty tea bowls, and you can also see the traditional pottery. A gem to visit!

Small restaurant/tea room, the onigiris are really nice, the menus and daily specials too, it's really a nice experience and the place doesn't lack charm!

Here I had the richest matcha latte I've tried in Paris. It was worth paying a little extra. It was a small and cosy place with an exquisite tea range, some sweet treats and light bites. Note there is a min. spend of 10 euros if you want to sit in. There were many beautiful teaware for sale too.

Very friendly and very pleasant staff. I really enjoyed my tasting there with my girlfriend. The two ladies who welcomed us were super friendly and natives of Japan, super enriching for learning the Japanese language. I recommend.

Taisho Ken

26/06/2024: I returned to Taisho Ken, the food is always very good, the team is always very welcoming. I will return to Taisho Ken if I am in the neighborhood.
21/06/2024: I haven't been back to Taisho Ken -Umami An since it opened almost 20 years ago 😳! At the time, we mainly ate okonomiyaki prepared on a hot plate. A Japanese canteen for lunch, an izakaya (sake bar. That hasn't changed too much and it's great 👍. I ordered a Toriteri Ontama don Chicken cooked in teriyaki sauce on a bowl of rice and its soft-boiled egg. Delicious! The service from the Japanese staff is very friendly. The prices are affordable for a canteen just a stone's throw from the Champs Elysées.

26/08/2024: Restaurant which looks family, with very fast service but which does not rush you to choose, to eat... calm restaurant where you can have a calm discussion without shouting to make yourself understood, it was very pleasant. Very good value for money and there is something for everyone. Little extra for the service, the young girl who served us was smiling, attentive and very kind!!! I can only recommend :)
