Kuma, France sur Paris

The mochi were amazing. And the server was also extremely professional and kind ! The only problem is that you have to wait outside but its worth it !

Perfect. A must-try. Very short menu but because what they serve is absolutely mastered. Get the eggs topping, they are worth it. Delicious place although very small. Go early and avoid peak times. the delivery is good too!

Really nice! Despite the limited seating inside, the server takes orders from those waiting so that when they're seated, they get their food right away. Very, very good food!

Paris is an expensive city, and after letting nearly 80 euros disappear at Café de Flore, I was happy to follow a friend to one of her favourite budget spots. Kuma was it. It was wildly popular. Every seat was taken, and the space is tiny (we had to wait for hours for a table), so we ordered takeaway and ate nearby. After a good 25-minute wait, our bowls arrived: two Nasu Don (teriyaki aubergine) at 14 euros each. The portion was generous by Parisian standards, and it's hard to find anything cheaper in this city, even if that's still close to $20 back in Canada. I hate to say it, but as lovely as the bowl looked, it wasn't a good meal. The aubergine was under-seasoned for my taste, and the rice was soft, overcooked, and mushy. For a Japanese restaurant, especially one built around donburi, perfectly cooked short-grain rice, fluffy yet distinct, should be the top priority. Beyond taking more care with the rice, I'd suggest grilling the aubergine with miso to deepen its flavour. I hope Kuma considers it. I'm still giving three stars for its accessibility and relative affordability in a pricey city. But as a visitor to Paris, I'd rather spend my meals on French cuisine, and there are plenty of affordable options, such as bouillon chartier

The best meal we had in Paris! A small but lovely place with a cozy atmosphere, great music, and people who genuinely put their hearts into what they do. You can feel the passion in every dish, and they make you feel right at home in their little kitchen. Hands down, one of the best vegetarian dishes we’ve ever had. A true hidden gem in Paris!

A fantastic culinary journey! There was a bit of a wait (8 places available) but the food was excellent and the waiter was friendly. We'll definitely keep this address!
