High expectations, but the staff is friendly and incredibly welcoming. I had the kunitora; the broth was clear and flavorful, but a little lacking in depth for my taste. The udon and salsify were delicious.

An excellent Japanese restaurant. 👌 They just celebrated their 35th anniversary and are still a go-to spot for udon and tempura. A very pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. 🙏 Highly recommended!

Great place, specializing in udon but also offering more classic dishes. The place is small but well-designed in my opinion and very pleasant. I highly recommend it.

There is one singular restaurant outside of my home country (Australia) that I can say I’ve now consciously visited twice and it’s Kunitoraya. My first visit was in 2024, and was a complete accident stumbling across it after a long day visiting Paris for the very first time. I had the karaage, tempura, and katsu curry don, and it blew. me. away. Flash forward to 2026, finding myself in Paris again, I simply HAD to come back. When I say I thought about this meal repeatedly in the years between I am not joking. The depth of flavour, heartiness, and wholesomeness of that meal stayed with me for years and brought me right back this year. I had to get the curry again, opting for udon over rice, and was absolutely not disappointed. Situated in an unsuspecting corner near the Louvre and its surrounds, Kunitoraya is simply a must for anyone craving some flavour, and a little bit of spice, amidst the Parisian bistros and French cuisine during a stay here.

The food was good, but the quantity and price were poor. We went to a second restaurant after our meal because we were still very hungry.

A very mixed review considering the bill. It wasn't bad overall, but the bill is still hard to swallow: €90 for three drinks, one starter, and two main courses. The udon broth was good, and the presentation was elegant. However, the Wagyu udon at €28 was frankly disappointing. Even for those who like fatty meat, these boiled strips were sorely lacking in flavor and were far too greasy without being tasty. Visually appealing, but the taste was very average for this price point. In short, at this price, you expect something truly exceptional, but this was just okay.

The broth was light yet full of umami, and the noodles were incredibly delicious. It was even better than the udon I ate in Japan, and I think I can rate it as the best udon I have ever had.

Super udon, very umami dashi broth just like in Vietnam, a bit pricey but that doesn't bother me because the quality is there.

My third time here, and every time it amazes me. Again and again, the food is always great. This place is worth a detour.

The food is delicious - Kunitoraya serves perhaps the best Tempura in Paris. Their udon and broth are also delicious - I recommend their small dishes like ohitashi. The staff is friendly. I come often and love the place.
