A wonderful discovery! We had a fantastic time in this charming and authentic place. The welcome was very warm, the atmosphere friendly, and the food truly delicious. The dishes were generous and flavorful, made with excellent ingredients. You can immediately feel the passion and attention to detail. The setting is lovely, with a traditional inn atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and fully enjoy the moment. We wholeheartedly recommend this place, both for the quality of the food and for the warm welcome and ambiance. We will definitely be back! The location and setting are exceptional, and the service is well-organized. Regarding the €44 set menu, the garbure (cabbage and bean soup) was good, but the rib-eye steak didn't seem to be of sufficient quality to justify the exorbitant price. Furthermore, the meat arrived at the table without us being asked how we wanted it cooked. The dessert was excellent, and the service was very good. The bill came to €205 for two; if you exclude the wine at €30 a bottle, I find this price truly excessive for a rib-eye steak menu. Despite this, I recommend the restaurant; you'll have a pleasant time. Following your response: You took the liberty of using the informal "tu" with me, which I did not do. Your reaction is more than mediocre and clearly demonstrates a tendency to react impulsively without checking, which is unprofessional for the owner of a reputable inn...Perhaps an excess of pride?

Excellent lunch; the duck breast was delicious, perfectly cooked and very well seasoned. The peach dessert was also delicious. The dining room is cool, but we preferred the sunny terrace. Well done!

We dined there on July 24th, and let's just say, all the ingredients for a great restaurant were there: - A warm welcome and attentive waitresses: they don't pressure you, yet they're there whenever you need them. - A dining room with a real character that gives you a hint of the atmosphere you'll find on your plate. - A tureen of garbure (a hearty vegetable and meat stew) lands on your table... the character of the Pyrenees is immediately apparent on your palate. - A trout carpaccio that speaks volumes about the quality of the ingredients. - Suckling pig with its stuffing, a truly generous and delicious dish. - A perfectly cooked trout fillet (this is rare, as chefs who truly master fish cooking are becoming increasingly rare), and what a presentation! - Roasted peaches with verbena ice cream, a delightful and original hot-and-cold combination to finish the meal. - Signature cocktails unlike anything we've ever seen or tasted before. - And on top of all that, a white wine from Ariège that provided the perfect refreshing touch to a warm summer evening. In conclusion, we had to choose from a tempting and extensive menu, but choosing shouldn't mean giving up. So, on our next vacation, we'll be back to try the dishes, cocktails, and wines we didn't get to sample on this first visit.

At the risk of disappointing some naysayers, given the deplorable comments I've read, this inn is simply fabulous! We wanted to try the delicious dishes for ourselves, and we weren't disappointed at all. The portions are good and generous; we definitely got our money's worth. The new owner has taken the reins of this inn admirably, and despite the complaints of the supposedly dissatisfied former customers who won't be returning (and to whom I wish the best), this will free up space for the next reservation! The staff is very friendly, which is becoming rare these days after all the restaurants we've tried. We will definitely be back! P.S. Bravo for the idea of ​​serving garbure in a tureen; it's truly authentic.

The restaurant is located just outside Saint-Girons on the road to Foix. There's a large sign that can be misleading, making you think the entrance is further on. Once you arrive, there's plenty of space in the castle grounds. In the entrance hall, there are some unusual restrooms. Once through the door, you'll find the reception and cashier on the left, and the large fireplace on the right. The dining room is square and features a rustic, all-wood interior with exposed beams. The service is quite fast, perhaps too fast. They take your order, bring you tapenade and toast while you wait, but nothing for me after I mentioned I don't like olives. The dishes arrive one after another; they're good, flavorful, but a little lacking in depth. The foie gras needs more pepper, the suckling pig was good but nothing special, and the desserts were generous and not too sweet. My dessert had a long hair on it. I called the waitress over to point it out, but I ate it anyway so as not to waste the food, despite her asking twice to change the dish. We were offered three coffees and a digestif. We're glad we came to the area for our vacation and didn't make a special trip. We're disappointed by the image portrayed on social media. No bearded owners, no local color. Please note that these are constructive criticisms, not negative ones; it's still a good restaurant. The staff is nonetheless friendly and professional.

Disappointed with what this restaurant has become since its takeover. The pork was mostly stuffing with a mushroom sauce (from Paris mushrooms), the steak tartare was very roughly chopped with a knife... The table and plate presentation also needs improvement. (For your information, we come every year, but not always with the same name... Always avoid being overconfident!)

We went there for a hen party. Excellent service and the quality of the meat was incredible.
