09/08/2026: A wonderful discovery! We had a fantastic time in this charming and authentic place. The welcome was very warm, the atmosphere friendly, and the food truly delicious. The dishes were generous and flavorful, made with excellent ingredients. You can immediately feel the passion and attention to detail. The setting is lovely, with a traditional inn atmosphere that makes you want to slow down and fully enjoy the moment. We wholeheartedly recommend this place, both for the quality of the food and for the warm welcome and ambiance. We will definitely be back! 09/08/2026: The old inn is no more!… The change of ownership has destroyed what made this place so charming. No, preserving the setting isn't enough! You need a passion for cultivating local produce with well-prepared traditional dishes. The garbure (a hearty vegetable and meat stew) is more like onion soup. The meat isn't seared properly and is undercooked, even though it's cooked over a wood fire… the fire isn't burning hot enough in every sense of the word… The suckling pig has lost its flavor. The kidneys and sweetbreads are gone… And the same goes for the lavish desserts of yesteryear. In short: a huge disappointment that must have already spread, since in the middle of summer the chairs are already empty and you can book at the last minute, whereas before you had to book several weeks in advance. P.S.: The €25 credit card imprint per person for the reservation is undoubtedly designed to ensure that those unaware the iconic owners are no longer with us leave as soon as we arrive! Lovers of true, old-fashioned tradition: look elsewhere

11/07/2026: A truly wonderful and memorable experience! Excellent cuisine from appetizer to dessert. The sauces can be customized to your liking – fantastic! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming thanks to the top-notch service. Enjoy the €16 set menu without hesitation. I highly recommend you go in as soon as possible. Enjoy!

10/08/2026: Unpleasant welcome at 2:20 PM; we couldn't even have a drink on the terrace because the waitress told us, "Sorry, we're closing." This is outrageous, especially in the middle of the afternoon, in summer, and during the holidays. I told her, "Take a good look at me because you won't see me again."

18/07/2026: The bistro atmosphere is nice; we came specifically for the calf's head. Everything was good. The service was quick. A big thank you to Tiam, the waiter, for his good humor and wit.

02/08/2026: Avoid this place! The food wasn't fresh. I ordered mussels... they were rotten, still open, and served with white wine that was so overpowering it was almost drowned. The service was overwhelmed; they shouldn't have so many tables if they can't serve everyone. We waited an hour for our main course and an hour and a half for our drinks. The drinks arrived 30 minutes after our main course, so I had plenty of time to get dehydrated and my meal would be cold. Paying €30 per person for this is appalling.

23/07/2026: We received a very warm welcome from a friendly lady who chatted with us for a few minutes. We enjoyed a pleasant dinner on the quiet terrace. I didn't dare mention that the beer had expired in August 2025.

14/06/2026: Excellent pizza, both Baltic and Landes-style, as well as a Basque aperitif. The passionate owner will happily chat with you if you invite him over. A peaceful spot.

14/02/2026: I know this establishment very well and I've enjoyed it until the day the beef satay I was served was truly off-flavored; it smelled incredibly strong, but they served it to me anyway. After I pointed this out to the owner, who immediately reprimanded his sister in the kitchen, he returned looking embarrassed and apologizing. The problem is, he shouldn't have served me that dish. Since then, I only go there as a last resort. Apart from that incident, the food served is good! I've recently started going back, and tonight (March 3, 2022) I wasn't disappointed. I think the kitchen has made some adjustments, and as a result, I'm going back regularly. Today, January 14, 2023, we went to this establishment, and frankly, we didn't regret it. We had a wonderful meal: I had my Vietnamese salad and beef satay, and my wife had her pho with coconut pearls. The atmosphere was good, it was busy, and there were lots of takeout orders. In short, I'll be back. PLEASE NOTE: The restaurant will be closed for the entire month of February 2023 and will not reopen until March 1st, 2023. Today, February 14th, 2026, this restaurant is permanently closed due to retirement. An Indian restaurant is expected to replace it. Opening date unknown.

11/11/2025: Always a very warm welcome at Saigon City. The food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the prices are reasonable. I highly recommend it.
