La Banque sur Epernay

Beautiful restaurant in the middle of Epernay let down by poor service. The food was really well presented and tasted lovely, the side vegetables were a bit bland. Sadly we were ignored for 15 minutes after being seated and when we finished our mains and asked for dessert menus, they were never provided so we just paid and left.

We didn’t have high expectations after reading the other reviews but we didn’t want a fine dining dinner and options in the area are limited and we only booked 4 days before at which point a lot was already full on a Friday night . You HAVE to book something in advance for all meals when visiting Champagne. The service was friendly when given . But in fairness I’ve never seen hospitality staff walk so slow . The manager sent so many people away with an unfriendly “complet” and a look as I “why do you not make a reservation “. But the restaurant was only ever half full. If the staff actually worked even half as quick they could accommodate more people . The meals were good , plat du jour of steak champignons and a tomato tartin from the starter menu but it was very big so served me as a main (we had lunch out too). Deserts appeared to be made off site or far in advance and were nothing special so would skip these next time . Great wine and champagne choices at reasonable prices for the location. Beautiful building , hardly changed from when it was an actual bank according to our bnb host .

Average food unfortunately. Mash was lumpy, steak was average and a bit dry for med/rare but good sized. Duck was overcooked. Sauce was lovely though. Service was impeccable and lovely surroundings but price was not related to quality. Very much a tourist go to.

Booking in advance is a must..lovely food ..very friendly young man who spoke good English took our order

Fine dining in a beautiful environment. Reasonable prices for the quality and presentation. Sole in citrus butter is excellent as well as the vegetarian risotto.

We had booked for over a month. When we arrived, the manager insisted on seating us in the outdoor courtyard even though the weather was stormy. After discussing out loud and for 1/4 hour. He finally found a solution.

Typical French restaurant, with several options. Service was great, even with the language barrier. Dishes were very well served, we didn't even manage to eat dessert because we were full.

Beautifully preserved place (great looking toilets but unfortunately in need of more attention - one of the toilets dirty and no toilet paper anywhere). Nice terrace/garden for outdoor dining. Food good but not special. Service very friendly but rather inexperienced.

Nous avons très bien déjeuner. Par contre le service réalisé par une bande de jeunes pas du tout professionnels, sans cesse les yeux rivés sur leur téléphone portable. Qui ne s'occupe pas des tables et qui ne suivent pas les commandes. C'est Insupportable.
