La Barbacane sur Montreuil-Bellay

A very pleasant restaurant; I ate on the terrace. The service was quick and enjoyable, with a lovely view of the castle. The salad and lemon tart were both excellent. Everything was beautifully presented. It was delicious!

They sure were busy! Arrived at 12.40 ish and were asked to return in 20-30 mins as all tables were taken - so we did at about 1.15. Stood around for at least 10 minutes trying to get any of the staff to engage with us regarding a now empty table with one chair. We were then told to come back in 20 mins and because I pointed out the empty table and that there were several unoccupied chairs for us to use, I feel that then their latent anti English attitudes came out. We totally ignored again. After a Google translate asking for a drink while we waited, it was 2 o'clock before they took our order and at 2.22pm 2 nice duck dishes arrived - just as we were leaving cash on the table for the beers! If there had been any other restaurants open we would have gone there instead. The service was slow because they were busy, but the attitude made the wait intolerable!

Beautiful terrace with the castle towers opposite. A short wait for our food... but it was very well prepared. Reasonable prices. We'll be back.

Salon de The is written above the facade, but it is now Chez Felcien, and what an amazing place this is! The location is top-notch with a terrace overlooking the castle, and you might easily fear it's a tourist trap, but nothing could be further from the truth! Fantastic food for a very good price and very friendly service from a lady with a charming umbrella tattoo 😄 Menu du jour for €27 of rare quality. Highly recommended!

Fantastic dinner on the terrace overlooking the castle entrance. The octopus was simply amazing. Absolutely delicious and the service was efficient, well done!

Hello, After visiting the Château de Montreuil-Bellay, we stopped at this restaurant located opposite it. What a wonderful discovery! The staff were very friendly, and the food was exceptional. It's a shame we live so far away, because we would definitely come back if we did.

For me, a perfect French lunch, in a perfect location, aided by the perfect weather.

Hello We didn't eat in, but we had drinks and ice cream in the afternoon. The setting is very pleasant, with the castle opposite, the drinks are reasonably priced, and above all, the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant's interior is nice, and a big plus is the cleanliness of the restrooms, which are very clean and have a touch of humor in the painting. In short, I plan to come back for a meal. Well done to the team!

Unforgettable cuisine for the eyes and taste buds, truly delicious; what might make us hesitate to return is the wait between courses, which is far too long.
