La Barbote - Microbrasserie sur Montpellier

A great brewery with a respectable selection of craft beers. Rather unassuming from the outside. Inside, it's very simple but effectively furnished. The beer tastes great and the people are cheerful. Definitely a must-visit for beer lovers in Montpellier!

Great experience. The team is absolutely fantastic (friendly, customer-focused and available), the food is excellent, and the beers are original and excellent.

Fan bloody tastic. Genuine small brewery with a wide range of beers for people who don't want mass produced boring beer. Food is pretty bloody good for a brewery. Good full stop. Try everything on the list and stagger home is my recommendation. Would recommend to a friend. Music, atmosphere , beers ( plenty for the non beer drinker) and friendly staff. Even for non french speaking Australians. A do not miss of Montpellier. .... Be back next time I am in the neighbourhood (tomorrow maybe). Cheers mate.

Had such a lovely, unexpected night at Microbrasserie La Barbote. We went because our nephew and his partner (visiting from Austria for my birthday) needed a good vegan-friendly spot before catching an early train — and they’d been struggling to find options around here. This place delivered. We’re meat eaters, but honestly, the food was super fresh with great variety, and everyone left happy. The beers were interesting, the vibe was cool, and the staff were genuinely friendly. Also loved the crowd — babies, kids, people “our age” 😄, and even dogs… such a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. We’re staying just across the road, so yes… we’ll definitely be back (and curious about what’s happening downstairs 👀)

The beer was very good. The food was tasty, but just okay. The service was a bit slow, as it took a while for the dishes to arrive. The bathroom was awful. It's unisex, filthy, and there's only one for everyone.
