A very nice hotel and family cuisine

The hotel is comfortable and very clean. The only downside for us is that the straw carpet floor of the bedroom would have to be removed 😉 it emits a smell that is not always pleasant. And access to rooms is not easy when you are elderly. The dinner was perfect. Simple and good breakfasts. We therefore recommend this Logis if you wish to visit the region or simply pass through.

Hotel located near Foix. Large room for three people, comfortable bed. All restored. The owner is a lovely person. It has a garden where you can rest very comfortably. The only drawback is the shower, literally the smallest I have found in any hotel. Recommendable.

Chance led us to La Barguillère. What a great discovery! The place is unusual and comfortable. Calm and alive at the same time. The truly warm welcome and the homemade cuisine a treat! Thank you also Anne for the package ;)

Let me start by saying that while I often want to write reviews I rarely do. However in this case i felt compelled to write about our experience. My wife and I stayed at this Auberge this May. Being totally honest, I wanted to stay in Foix and be walking distance from the city. My wife had a feeling about this place and convinced me to drive up to see it so i went along fully intending to shut it down and return to Foix. When we arrived I quickly found three strikes - a bit quirky; too far from Foix; and no shower. However, my wife persisted and we ended up agreeing to spend the night to my chagrin. I started to realize just how wrong i was when i went down to dinner. I started to talk with Ann (the proprietor) and one of her lovely staff whose young son was also there. I was surrounded by real people who really cared and who were really interesting. Bottom line is that we ended up spending three nights there, and i could have spent more. Ann was simply amazing. Her cooking was incredible and everything was made in-house. We had two dinners there (something we virtually never do) and her recommendations for other places were spot on. The breakfasts were perfect and i am still yearning for those amazing blueberry muffins although the homemade yogurt was a close second. Maybe the best thing i can say is that the other guests had been coming back here for years. I totally understand why! Oh, and by the way, i learned to live with the bath/shower combo and truth be told enjoyed it - by the way she does have rooms with showers. We had two glorious days of cycling in the region and three amazing nights at a place that felt like home. Please do yourself a favor and give this place a try. I guarantee you that Ann and her staff will make it worthwhile. If i ever go back to Foix, I know where i will be staying.

If you like kindness, good taste, simplicity, the excellent cuisine of Anne, the host of the place, a certain jazzy atmosphere, don't hesitate 👍 This establishment reflects my feelings in Ariège, a beauty, a non-urban ecology, a paradise for hikers, cyclists, kayakers and other outdoor lovers! What happiness, I will go back, that's for sure 😄

A very warm welcome first of all. The dinner was made from local, quality products. The service is perfect. The room was large and the bedding was good quality. Breakfast also consists of homemade products (flank, fruit salad, cake, yogurt). Finally, we find a real inn here. I will come back with pleasure.
