La Bella Donna en Ville sur La Rochelle

Great find! The waitress was attentive and professional. We asked for some advice and she answered directly, I loved it 😋 Just a minor drawback: the unpleasant sewer smell, which put me off my appetite a bit.

We were a group of 10, and we waited a long time for drinks. The classic pasta carbonara and the risotto were disappointing. The rest was okay, but nothing special.

A very unpleasant surprise. This restaurant had been recommended to us. We decided to order a bottle of wine, explaining that it would serve as both an aperitif and our meal. We ordered immediately. The bottle arrived, and the "original" carbonara followed three minutes later—thanks for the aperitif. The pasta itself wasn't very good and was rather bland. The recipe might appeal to some, but it left an unpleasant salty taste, and it wasn't the few slices of bacon that caused it. The pasta water probably wasn't salted, and they added salt after cooking. The grated Parmesan sprinkled on top was a nice touch. The dessert, however, arrived a very long time after the main course, and the tiramisu we ordered was also bland. The amaretto coffee added on top was like barely lukewarm slop. Very disappointed and overpriced considering the quality of the food.

A welcoming establishment in a great location in the old town of La Rochelle, near the two famous towers of the Old Port. The only downside, in my opinion, is the mediocre decor with its artificial plants that aren't very eco-friendly. Otherwise, it's well worth a visit!

The Vendée residents are delighted with their visit to Bella Donna in La Rochelle.

One of the best Italian restaurants in town. The risotto is superb. I've been several times and am always very satisfied. The spritz cocktails are truly excellent. Be sure to make a reservation to avoid being seated at the first tables near the entrance. The atmosphere is much nicer and more inviting upstairs.

Fantastic restaurant, we had a wonderful meal! The decor is incredible and the service impeccable. We will definitely be back.
