La Belle Epoque sur Ajaccio

A quick stop for refreshments after a walk from the marina. We arrived a bit late, but we were warmly welcomed and the service was very efficient. It has to be said, there weren't many people there with this heatwave. 😝 On the other hand, the prices were reasonable and the staff very friendly. We had a pleasant time. I had a fresh salad (the "country ham" label is a bit of a stretch... thanks Lidl or Super U 😂) and my wife had a goat cheese salad. Both plates were generous, and the half-liter of rosé was perfect (thanks for the bag of ice!). The staff seemed to be preparing the dining room for this evening, July 14th, in anticipation of the rush due to the fireworks and the football semi-final. Good luck, everyone. The waitress was a charm better than the owner. Must be a local thing. The food was quite good but the measles were just fine. Sometimes not good. I guess it goes with the plate. The ambiance was ok.

Friendly bistro in a great street. I enjoyed my salade fraicheur. Escalope was also very good. Nice cold beer. Very good service even when busy. Great people watching

A very warm welcome, friendly and cheerful waiter. The mussels from the Étang de Diane are famous and the portions are generous. Good atmosphere and reasonable value for money.
