La Bonne Auberge de la Crouzette sur Combaillaux

A little disappointed. Our dishes weren't bad, but we didn't leave feeling particularly impressed. The burger—or rather, the pastry, since it was far from a burger—was served with potatoes, but the whole thing was quite dry. It would have been nice to have a small sauce (Roquefort or chive cream to stay on theme) in a small ramekin on the side, and especially to offer a side dish of half potatoes and half mixed greens (lamb's lettuce or watercress) with a good vinaigrette. A touch of greenery would have balanced the dish. The same goes for the steak tartare. A small addition of sprouted seeds, like alfalfa or pickled cabbage, would have complemented the Asian marinade of the beef. In short, it lacked greens! 😆 As for the service, you can tell they're understaffed. It was a bit slow, even though the desire to do well was there. As for the setting, La Crouzette remains La Crouzette, it is always very pleasant with shaded tables nestled among the trees.

A small restaurant in a splendid setting, under the olive trees, with simple yet refined cuisine... and there you have it, a lovely evening. Having just reopened 3 months ago, the team gave us a very warm welcome... a little gem! We enjoyed a plate of small bites (accras, kromeski, tempura...), a sea bream tartare with pea purée, and a pistachio tiramisu/peach pavlova... excellent value for money!

A very strange experience: The place is nice, the menu looks appealing, but all is not well. The waitress was clearly new because she didn't know anything about the menu. We asked what the tapas were: she didn't remember, and she didn't know any details about the dishes... the menu isn't that long, but let's just say it was. There was a change to the starter I ordered, but she couldn't remember what it was. I asked her to check whether I wanted it or not. After a while without an answer, I asked her again; of course, she had forgotten... With our starters, she forgot to bring us bread. We asked her for it, and she brought us three rolls... even though there were five of us eating... In short, the staff seemed completely overwhelmed and lost, even though there weren't many of us. As for the meal, the value for money isn't great: it needs something more refined to make it truly worthwhile. For example, I ordered the pork, which was indeed very tender, but had many large chunks of fat, and it came with a simple mashed potato—good enough, but too basic. Finally, beware if you're prone to mosquitoes; we were devoured (we were outside). So, in conclusion, I think this restaurant could be really nice if they put a little more effort into the food preparation and service.
