La Cafeteria sur Sarlat-La-Caneda

Update from January 10, 2026: Back at this cafe and it was very, very good, simple, and inexpensive. Basic but very tasty starters. Main course: roast chicken, super delicious, with green vegetables, potatoes, and jus. Absolutely fantastic, I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it was a generous portion! A small chocolate mousse-style dessert, also very good. I loved it because it was well-prepared and homemade; it was absolutely delicious, well done! Original post: Great food. We had the chicken escalope with tarragon sauce, which was to die for: perfectly tender, flavorful, a delight. The vegetables were great. The welcome was incredibly kind and pleasant; we felt very comfortable. The decor is very nice. In short, a good cafe-style restaurant, but of high quality. Just a slightly smaller selection of starters and desserts, but it's not a big deal. Thank you to the owners.

I have read many negative and positive comments, but the people who are acting in bad faith, or because of a show that leaked their name but still boosted their image, and the people who continue to follow them to post negative comments, have a profoundly stupid mentality behind their screens. You entered through the restaurant door; if you are not satisfied, you leave through the same door.

Excellent value for money. Far too many people are hateful towards the restaurant after the show. Jealousy is an ugly trait.

Simple, efficient and good, the manager is very nice

After the show, my husband and I came to eat at this restaurant and we enjoyed it.

I had the beef bourguignon, which was very well cooked and served with potatoes. It was also very good. Simple, good, home-style cooking. The dining room is large and clean, as are the display cases. The staff is friendly. The restrooms are also clean. Excellent value for money.

I had a very pleasant time at this canteen-restaurant, a place worth discovering with its hearty local dishes and excellent value for money. (Free-range Périgord chicken for the daily special) The atmosphere is simple and friendly. I recommend this place for a quick, efficient, and delicious lunch break!

Not disappointed at all, very pleasant setting. Rackech and Neeta are very welcoming with a smile and kindness. Excellent value for money, we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely be back! Highly recommended!
