Beautiful terrace, peaceful canalside setting, delicious food, reasonable prices, and quick service make it an ideal spot for a quick break on the way home from vacation. Note: Apparently, a new team has been in place since June 2026, so all previous reviews are now outdated. Best of luck!

A hearty and, above all, excellent meal, enjoyed on the terrace by the water. A peaceful and verdant setting. Very pleasant staff. A wonderful discovery. Next time we're in the area, we'll definitely be back!

Congratulations to the team in place this year! I've been to La Capitainerie several times since mid-August. I've tried almost all the dishes, appetizers, and desserts. Everything is excellent, and the service is particularly friendly. THANK YOU 😀😋

Tourists, dare to leave the main roads! In Baumes-les-Dames, head towards the Super U supermarket. You'll find the harbor master's office, a magnificent parking lot, and a terrace by the water. The staff is attentive, and Virginie, the manager, is pleasant and efficient, offering good food. A stop not to be missed! Keep up the good work! Sincerely, André

We stopped by for a drink and were so warmly welcomed that we stayed for dinner. The fried trout was excellent, hot, and plentiful. The waiter and waitress were fantastic.
