La Chaudanne sur Morzine

Overall, we were very satisfied with our visit to Restaurant La Chaudanne in Morzine. The location is fantastic, especially if you're coming straight from the slopes – perfect for a relaxing break. The food was high quality, freshly prepared, and delicious. The regional specialties are particularly recommended. The portions were also generous. The service was friendly and attentive, although at times a little stressed due to the high volume of customers – which is understandable given the location. A bit more attention and speed would have been the icing on the cake. The ambiance is cozy and suits the alpine setting, but could be a bit more modern in some areas. All in all, a very solid restaurant with good food and a great location – we'll definitely be back!

The best fondue we've ever had, by far, with excellent service. However, the vegetarian/vegan tart, which looked very promising, wasn't well made; the vegetarian in our group was very disappointed. The dish could easily have been better executed. The rest of us were very satisfied with our meals.

The service was impeccable; however, I ordered duck with vegetables and small potatoes. The meat had a sinew, making it difficult to cut, and the vegetables were still crunchy for me. My husband had cod loin with sliced ​​potatoes, which was nicely presented, but for the price, it would have been nice to have some vegetables. For dessert, we had the "café gourmand," which was good except for the chocolate mousse, which needs improvement.

Superb chalet, beautiful decor, very friendly welcome, very nice and varied menu… But, but, but: the tartiflette is nothing like a real tartiflette (according to an expert from Thônes). It's a good potato gratin with a sort of creamy béchamel sauce with bacon and onions, and a little melted Reblochon cheese on top… It's very good… but it's not a tartiflette. A real tartiflette is made with sautéed potatoes deglazed with white wine, generous amounts of bacon and sautéed onions… and above all, a good, melted, and gratinéed Reblochon cheese—in abundance, that's the most important ingredient in a tartiflette.

A very pleasant evening meal with friends

We visited the restaurant. 8 guests. Table reservations were required in March. The reason for the slightly lower score was 2 reasons. One was for us who ordered duck. We found it chewy and cut up. Maybe too raw. Not a good experience with such a good ingredient. The other was the desserts. The ice cream that came with several of the dishes was tasteless and without the quality you would expect. The presentation of the desserts was great but definitely did not taste as expected. Those who ordered beef dishes were very happy with it. The waiters were nice. They never asked us if the food was tasty. Nice premises with a cozy interior. Wheelchair friendly. Vegan options. Good parking.

Best french onion soup I've ever had. Bar was great as well. Service ran like clockwork. The only place I've eaten in town where I would happily come back. Raclette looked amazing. 👌
