La Chaumiere sur Villefranche-Sur-Mer

We attended La Chaumière on Thursday night with six of us (pre-booked) and had a good dinner. There were a few areas for improvement which should be considered for future visits. Entres - one dish forgotten / never brought out even after raising this. No apologies from the staff or acknowledgement they’d missed this - we cancelled this when it didn’t turn up as mains were coming out. Mains - very good food, ask for a second plate of potatoes as one small plate of potatoes for six people was not enough. Overall very good food and portions were big. You do need to pre-order the chicken however so if you don’t check the menu in advance you couldn’t have this. Deserts were okay, cream offered with apple pie which tasted off / sour cream and ruined dish. We scraped to the side. Staff weren’t particularly enthusiastic and asking for a carafe of water was unnecessarily hard work. A young male staff member borderline rude. Overall we liked the restaurant but as a customer you shouldn’t have a comment / raise something every course. Room for improvement.

Incredible experience! Staff are just so nice and welcoming. Food is like no other place I've been and they have a small selection of lovely wines. Plenty of street parking but it's a busy junction so hard to not end up blocking the road you try to navigate

An extraordinary place! I came with my partner for his birthday, and I can tell you it's the best restaurant we've ever been to, the best meat we've ever eaten! We were speechless. The prices are certainly high, but they are absolutely worth it 🙏🏻 The atmosphere was warm, the meat exceptional, and the cooking perfect. We will definitely be back!!

La Chaumière was a real surprise and easily one of my favorite meals of the trip. If you're a steak lover, this place is something special. The steak was absolutely outstanding—perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and full of flavour. One thing I really appreciated was that it had none of that strong, gamey smell that sometimes comes with certain cuts of beef. Just a clean, rich taste that let the quality of the meat speak for itself. What made the experience even better was watching the chefs grill everything over the barbecue inside the restaurant. Seeing the flames and smelling the food cooking right in front of you adds so much to the whole experience. It gave the steak an amazing smoky flavour that I’m still thinking about. I left completely satisfied, and it's one of those meals I'll genuinely remember. If I ever find myself back in the area, this will definitely be on my list again.

Well worth making the trip up the hill for. Beautifully cooked T-bone steak and baked Camembert to start, washed down with a lovely bottle of Bordeaux red. Would recommend a seat inside to take the atmosphere of the steaks being cooked on the grill.

Steaks cooked over an open fire in the restaurant, perfect barking, good range of different cuts from grade 5 Wagyu to USD Tomahawks, it's quite a skill to cook steaks over an open fire, and still keep them rare, medium rare etc. Straight forward sides, smoked baked potatoes and salad, don't need anything else when the meat tastes so good! Great calm atmosphere in a scenic setting...did I mention the home made desserts, save some space if you can. Make sure you book in advance as they are usually full every evening. Check them out

One of the absolute best steak restaurants ive ever been to and ive been to many. The atmosphere was amazing, service was incredible and my steak was out of this world. Absolutely loved the fire 🔥 place and the rusty look of the place. 100% recommend.

Simply incredible! Delicious oven-baked meat, I loved it, and Sarah wants to go back every week!!! And it's not expensive either, €220 for almost 2 kilos, right?
