La Chenillette sur La Clusaz

Lovely restaurant with a stunning view, delightful waiter, and a warm welcome. Original and delicious cuisine.

The atmosphere was spoiled by a customer who sat right next to us and talked on his phone for 30 minutes while eating, with the speakerphone on. Our complaint to the head waiter was poorly received.

Beautiful setting, very good service. The porcini mushroom fondue is excellent. The only downside is the desserts, which are rather ordinary and small considering the price (€12). The cream with a few red berries is simple, and the lemon and basil mousse biscuit (a sort of revisited lemon tart) is nothing special. We were hoping for a "wow" factor and something truly indulgent at this price; it's a bit disappointing.

We came for a family lunch and had a wonderful time. All the dishes were beautifully presented and colorful; it was refined, and we enjoyed a very good lunch. Special mention goes to the beef, the ceviche, and especially the chocolate blueberry dessert. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and always smiling. Kudos to the chefs and the entire team; it's a truly excellent place.

The fondue was excellent (but the portion given was far too small for two people; we received a portion meant for one). The setting with the mountains was superb!

It's true that the setting is worth the trip. The terrace is magnificent, as is the view. The tables are well spaced. The welcome is adequate, but not particularly friendly. Perhaps out of discretion… For us, after visiting twice during each of our holidays since the renovation, we found an overall decline in quality this time, so we won't be making a second reservation. The fresh cheese board as a starter, garnished with small herbs and flowers spread on buttered croutons, remains a lovely and good idea. But in terms of main courses, there's not much innovation. It's simple, predictable, and, it seems to us, less "prepared" than before. We were disappointed to have to send back our dishes (two different ones), which were clearly either reheated or left under the halogen lamps. We'd never had to ask for this in a restaurant before, but it was so obvious. And here, the problem was handled very professionally. There were no issues, and the change was dramatic. The dishes were remade, and well done. Why this oversight, which is understandable given the otherwise positive reaction? How can you take a dish out of the kitchen without realizing its poor quality? This is what we're wondering about, a possible decline in standards, adding to the simplicity of the cuisine. Perhaps the staff were less attentive... Or maybe they were just tired at the end of the season? We hope this lack of vigilance is only temporary, as our past experiences will encourage us to return. In any case, thank you for your promptness in changing our dishes. We preferred to make our comments immediately rather than vent our frustrations after we left. August 26th, lunchtime.

A superb experience at La Chenillette restaurant! The setting at the foot of the mountains, overlooking Lac des Confins, is simply magnificent. A huge thank you to Alice, our server, who welcomed us and advised us with such kindness and professionalism. Her recommendation for the signature cocktail (infused rum, arquebus, and blueberries) was the perfect way to start our meal. As for the food, the Savoyard fondue, enhanced with pieces of garlic, was simply delicious. We didn't have room for dessert despite the very tempting menu, but we'll have to save it for next time. We will definitely return on our next visit to La Clusaz!
