Typical atmosphere of a small brasserie. A warm welcome from the waiters. The price-quality ratio is a little excessive for my taste.

Meal for our civil partnership for my wife and I and the meal was divine, good piece of meat with homemade fries, an incredible dessert and starters that didn't even last two minutes 🤣🤣, Thanks to the chope for this incredible moment, the gourmet menu is really great 🤤🤤🤤

Rennes' oldest brasserie is worth a visit for its decor, but especially for its cuisine. The attentive service is second to none. Just a stone's throw from Place de la République, where almost all the buses pass.

Very good French restaurant with classic food

Weekday dinner; the dishes ranged from decent (starter, prawns, dessert, millefeuille) to good (kidneys, duck breasts), but the wines were forgettable. The service was fast, which we appreciated. However, we had booked through TheFork with a 20% discount on the menu, which we only realized later wasn't applied. We should have thought to check, but perhaps propriety would have dictated that we simply rely on the house's honesty.

A wonderful culinary surprise in the heart of Rennes! At La Chope, they cultivate a taste for good produce in an old-fashioned brasserie atmosphere, offering the classics without a hitch. The duck breast, generous and of high quality, lived up to its promise: masterfully cooked, tender flesh, and served with a well-reduced jus. A special mention goes to the kidneys with port, a dish often mistreated elsewhere, here perfectly cooked and subtly flavored. For dessert, a melt-in-the-mouth tarte Tatin, caramelized as it should be, bordered on excellence. On the downside, the ice cream: the After Eight, expected to be more adventurous, left us a little hungry. In short: a place that respects the codes of the French bistro with heart and honesty. Simple, well-prepared cuisine that makes you want to come back… for everything except the ice cream!

True to its reputation, excellent cuisine, perfect service and a warm atmosphere
