At midday during peak ski season, we were inevitably cramped. The service was impeccable and quite fast, and the food was good, probably homemade. However, there was a bit of a wait for coffee at the end of service.

It's a pleasure to return to La Chouette every year during our ski week! The food is excellent and the atmosphere is fantastic. Thank you to the waiters and waitresses for their cheerfulness… bring on 2027!

Best lunch spot in the whole resort! I've been coming to Vars for 20 years. Maude, the waitress is amazing! Theo, the food is incredible, your daily specials are fantastic! Our only regret is that we only found this place at the end of the week!

Fantastic experience! There were four of us, and we enjoyed wood-fired pizzas right by the slopes: they were excellent. After several bad experiences at other mountain restaurants, this one really stands out. The setting is lovely, and the service was top-notch. Thank you to Apolline and Quentin for their kindness.

The restaurant was closed, so we had dinner at the same owner's northern French restaurant. The fondue was okay, but we got sick/food poisoning the next day :(

18/07/2026: New management, new experience. The setting is still as pleasant as ever. We found the service very good; the staff were friendly, attentive, and relatively quick and responsive despite the high volume of customers. The portions are quite generous, but it's a shame the quality wasn't quite there. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't unforgettable either. We felt the choice of ingredients was more reminiscent of a cafeteria than high-quality local produce. This is a bit of a shame because, in my opinion, the prices don't reflect the quality. Nevertheless, we still had a pleasant time. Hopefully, time and feedback will help the team improve even further. With better ingredients and a little more attention to detail in the preparation, I think this establishment would be a very good restaurant.
