Impeccable service, impeccable cuisine Tremendous

We came on the recommendation of my brother, who gave us the tip just in time on our last evening. So we quickly and easily reserved a table online. Upon arrival, the staff were practically lined up to greet us. We were given a table for two in the front of the restaurant, directly opposite the gigantic cloche. 😀 The restaurant was quite busy that evening, but not completely full. After choosing the raclette, the appliance was brought over to heat it up. Overall, the meal there is an experience unlike any we'd had before. Half a wheel of cheese is pinned up to melt, and you help yourself to the desired amount of cheese right there. Pickles, new potatoes, and a selection of salami and ham were served alongside. Everything was of excellent quality. It was fun, and we really indulged. Baguette and all the side dishes were brought out again and again. It's a very stylish all-you-can-eat experience—and well worth the price, especially considering the experience. We had a demi-half of Pinot Gris and finished with a digestif: Mirabelle plum and squash. How we managed to have time for dessert, we don't know 😉 The service was outstanding. A very friendly and attentive lady was our main server. There was no language barrier. If French wasn't enough, we switched to English. The cheese expert, a young man, was probably still learning, but friendly and incredibly personable. Then there was the owner, who re-racked the cheese and otherwise came to the table to check on things when the other two weren't available. Everyone was very professional and truly pleasant. This is what hospitality should be like: people who understand their craft and do it with passion. I'm already thinking about when and how we can come back and who we can bring with us. :-) The trip to Strasbourg was worth it for this alone. Thank you so much!

We drive all the way from Frankfurt to Strasbourg, and honestly, we do it every single time just for this fondue. The fondue at La Cloche à Fromage is simply something special. Incredibly delicious, wonderfully creamy, and exactly the kind of food you look forward to during the drive. On top of that, the team makes you feel instantly at ease. They're incredibly friendly, attentive, and warm, without feeling forced. We were absolutely thrilled once again. If there were 10 stars, we'd give them 10; 5 definitely aren't enough. For us, a visit to Strasbourg for a good fondue at La Cloche à Fromage is now a must. The trip from Frankfurt is worth it every single time.
