My friends and I bought three individual Basque pastries (one of each) at the Bayonne market. They were excellent. I highly recommend them, especially to tourists looking for a local dessert. A special mention goes to the curly-haired saleswoman who gave us great advice and was very kind!

Excellent Basque cake! Very good sandwich, filled with Bayonne ham, cheese, butter, and salad in a nice fresh roll. Very friendly service and very reasonable prices.

The best Basque cherry cake from Bayonne. I bought mine on Wednesday for lunch this Sunday; the cake was delicious, and, kept in the fridge for three days, it tasted as if it had been fresh that morning.

Bakery located in a rather charmless port area. Pleasant welcome. We had a Basque cake which wasn't the best we've ever had. It lacked flavor and was a bit dry.

17/08/2026: As for the restaurant, I can't comment. I came with my partner for coffee after dinner. At 9 pm, the waiters noticed us being seated, but no one came to take our order. After 10 minutes, someone finally arrived, took our order, prepared it, brought it to us, and told us they were closing in 10-15 minutes. In my opinion, this young man just wanted to get home quickly.
