Authentic French cuisine, just the way we like it: generous, delicious, and unpretentious, in a setting and atmosphere reminiscent of the classic French film "Les Tontons Flingueurs"! At La Cuisine des Tontons in Grenoble, you come for a good meal, and you certainly won't be disappointed: hearty portions, flavorful dishes, authentic cuisine, and truly unbeatable value for money. And since a good restaurant isn't just about what's on the plate, a special mention goes to the owner and the entire team: a warm welcome, top-notch service, good humor, and that convivial atmosphere that makes you feel like you're being hosted by friends. In short, the kind of place where you eat a lot, eat well, and above all, have a wonderful time. And it's impossible to talk about Les Tontons without mentioning the decor… right down to the restrooms! 🤣 So I couldn't resist showing you this little marvel: the Queen Mother's throne, now accompanied by the new throne of King Charles III. For that alone, the visit is almost worth the trip! 😂 You can feel the spirit of the "Tontons flingueurs" (a French film) everywhere, with humor, personality, and above all, no pretension. So, since a review should normally include at least one criticism, I looked for… the food? No. The value for money? No. The owner? No. The service? No. The atmosphere? Still nothing. In short, just one criticism… actually, no: NO CRITICISM!!! 🤣 An address like this is the kind we wish we could find much more often.

We've been several times and have never been disappointed. It's traditional cuisine and the portions are generous. There's something for everyone, from those with a light appetite to those with a hearty appetite. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The restaurant was packed, a testament to its popularity. I noticed that it's possible to take home any unfinished meals. No waste!

Generous portions, excellent quality ingredients, and top-notch service. After your meal, just before dessert, they offer you a complimentary infused rum, which is perfect. In short, a wonderful experience.

EDIT: I posted the wrong location in my previous review. Here's the correct one: The portions are incredibly generous, especially considering the very attractive prices. We ate so well that we couldn't even finish our desserts! We were also pleasantly surprised by the complimentary house rum at the end of the meal. A truly thoughtful touch and a very enjoyable rum that allowed us to end the meal on a high note. Between the generous portions, the reasonable prices, and the friendly atmosphere, we had a wonderful time. I highly recommend this place!

Very good restaurant and really inexpensive considering the generous portions. I think it's a bit much unless you have a very large appetite. In any case, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal, except for two friends who didn't like the fish tartare. I didn't try it myself. The desserts are enormous. A word of advice: come on an empty stomach. The service was impeccable and the decor sublime. Two set menus for €21 (starter, main course, and dessert with a glass of wine and a coffee). It was noisy, like most restaurants. I recommend it.
