The menu and the setting promised so much more!
While Pela probably has several recipes, we were looking for authenticity;
* the potatoes, boiled and broiled,
* forgotten onions?
* countless pieces of bacon!
* all well-seasoned? No, rather bland.
It's a shame, it looked good with a warm and professional staff.
In this type of establishment, authenticity and flavor happen in the kitchen, and here, well, it didn't... the old-timer is gone, there's been no passing down of knowledge, trained or misled for cost-effectiveness and profit margins, for tourists who won't return but who will have left their handouts!

Like every year (or almost), we made a quick stop at Pépé's. Sitting on the terrace, and despite the limited staff (as we'd been told when we booked), we were served with great care. For the first time, we had fondue (despite the high temperatures) on the terrace and we weren't disappointed. A very good mix of flavors, with a well-chosen salad and charcuterie (it is still melted cheese, so those on a diet should probably avoid it). Another lovely time, see you next year! ;)

Excellent, generous portions served by very welcoming and friendly hostesses. We tried the burger, the pela, the revard, the chicken nuggets, and the duck breast. Both children and adults thoroughly enjoyed their meal. We highly recommend it.

Good restaurant in Le Grand Bornand with a friendly welcome.
The Reblochon and Raclette burger was very good and generous. The service was efficient and quick.

A wonderful discovery!
We received a very warm welcome on a Saturday evening without a reservation.
We were outside, but then the temperature dropped and we wanted to go inside. No problem at all; the waitress, with a smile, seated us inside. The food was excellent, from the main course to the dessert.
We will definitely be back. A must-try restaurant in Le Grand Bornand.
