La Flambée sur Guerande

A very warm welcome in a place where time seems to stand still! The galettes, crêpes, and drinks are a delight, and the products are of high quality. THE crêperie on the ramparts.

Very good experience: local products, pleasant service and a limited menu with very good products.

You must try the delicious "tête de lard" (bacon head) with Guéméné andouille sausage, organic egg, Emmental cheese and cooked onion, crispy galette, delicious.

Mixed experience. The establishment is lovely, and we really enjoyed the original crepes. However, and despite the scathing responses you might offer to other negative reviews, I share the unpleasant impressions of some other customers. The waiter who greeted and served us was truly unfriendly. Conversation was very limited, and his "advice" was particularly inappropriate (he pressured us to buy more alcohol even though we had already ordered an aperitif and cider). In short, it's difficult to recommend this restaurant, even though the food is interesting.

We arrived on the morning of June 28th around 11:45 AM, asking to have "breakfast," but were told that breakfast wasn't being served any longer at that time and we couldn't just have drinks—we had to order food! Fair enough! We were there to eat anyway—call it breakfast, lunch, or brunch; the point was to have a meal. While we were looking at the menu, the person who greeted us (I believe the owner) told us we "couldn't share dishes"—even before we had chosen anything. We were quite taken aback by these "orders," as we hadn't even expressed any intention to do such things! :((( We gave the place a try and ordered two crepes and two coffees; both were good. The cafeteria is small but charming, and I should add that the person who greeted us maintained a formal and polite tone throughout. However, what will keep me from returning is what I said to them: "Ma'am, you're bringing up these issues before we've even opened our mouths!" I think this is the biggest downside: making the customer feel not like a welcome guest, but like an unruly child in a boarding school cafeteria. And this is a decisive minus in my opinion: They don't make the customer feel like a welcomed guest, but rather like unruly children in a boarding school spotlight.

We were lucky enough to arrive when there was still a table available on the terrace. There was a bit of a wait for service, but that's to be expected in the middle of August. The cider was delicious, and the crêpes were a real treat. The option to share for a small extra charge was a great idea; the crêpes are quite filling for children (especially when their eyes are bigger than their stomachs 😅). We really enjoyed the names of the crêpes; they gave us a good laugh. Thank you for your hospitality. We'll be back if we're ever in the area.

Excellent galettes. Tasty and original across all the offerings. A must-try if you're in Guérande.

The Camembert galette (advertised as made with raw milk) was tasteless… What a shame…

We had lunch there today, a party of eight. You have to be fully booked from the start to get a table; it was impossible to get a seat even though there were seven of us by the time the last person arrived. The trout crepe was rather disappointing, but the other crepes were good. The "surprise" ice cream, however, was a success! But overall, we didn't feel very welcome in this restaurant, which is a shame and left us with a rather mixed impression.
