La Fourchette Auvergnate sur Solignac-Sur-Loire

Congratulations to the barmaid, the waitress, the parking attendant, the manager... she's everywhere... or almost. Doumé.

Perfect for a lunch break. The service was quick, the food was excellent, with traditional recipes perfectly executed. The bouchée à la reine, for example, often overdone, was perfect, and the veal marengo was sublime. Coming from Aveyron, where we have excellent culinary traditions, I must say, hats off to them, and the quality-to-price ratio is outstanding. I highly recommend it.

A wonderful stop on our motorcycle trip. The food was absolutely delicious, homemade with excellent ingredients, expertly prepared. The welcome was incredibly warm, friendly, attentive, kind, and... funny – we loved it! The setting, the access, the parking – all pleasant and convenient. We can't wait to come back and try the other dishes. A truly great place.

Stop on the way back from Ardèche, there is space in the parking lot for trucks and motorhomes, friendly staff and generous portions.

A wonderful discovery at Les Portes du Velay restaurant. We were warmly welcomed with smiles in a friendly and pleasant atmosphere. The special holiday menu was excellent, from the appetizer to the cheese or dessert. The veal was cooked to perfection: congratulations to the chef! Special mention also goes to the homemade punch, which was truly delicious, served with fresh fruit. Everything is homemade, and it shows in the quality of the dishes. We particularly appreciate the fresh, local produce featured on the plates, which makes all the difference. I should also mention that the establishment is clean, including the restrooms. There's even a changing table for babies 🙂 which is quite convenient. A truly wonderful place that we are happy to recommend! We will definitely be back! Thank you to the whole team ☺️

Fantastic discovery over the May Day weekend. Unbeatable value for money. Impeccable, professional, and warm service. Delicious, yet unpretentious cuisine. It's a very pleasant place to be, and we actually had lunch there twice, four days apart. I highly recommend it!

I've known this place for three decades!!!...it's evolved a lot......it's still an excellent roadside diner but also an excellent gourmet restaurant!!!...for a price that's quite "Auvergnat" (a play on words, roughly translating to Auvergne)....as a good review should be, the toast that accompanies the foie gras could be improved, and at the bar, the pool table deserves a renovation, and of course, there's no pinball machine!!!.....otherwise, gastronomically speaking, it's a real shame to pass by this place without stopping!!!....that's my opinion, and of course, I'm sharing it!!!....
