La Galerie, Brasserie de Tradition sur Valenciennes

A superb, majestic establishment! This was my second visit; the reservation was made by my children for my 50th birthday, including facial treatments and access to the spa and pool. Unfortunately, for the second time, the hammam and sauna were closed. It's a shame to have access rights and not be able to use them. Otherwise, the facial treatment was truly excellent.

An incredible place steeped in history, with sumptuous decor. The rooms are magnificent, the decoration exquisite. The spa area is breathtaking. The restaurant is also excellent. All the staff are truly attentive and professional. I can't find a single thing to criticize.

We dined at La Galerie restaurant for the first time this Monday and… what a surprise!! Valentin gave us an impeccable welcome and advised us on our dishes (we recommend the duck breast with its red fruit sauce), and a big thank you to Vivien for his exceptional kindness. A special mention goes to Damien who served us a coffee of his own creation that was simply divine! Perfect to accompany the desserts. In short, we highly recommend it.

We usually come for afternoon tea because the place is beautiful, and we always find it just as lovely. However, the service is disappointing. There were about twenty of us, and only three people behind the bar and two in the dining area. The tables weren't cleared! We waited a very long time after calling a waiter, who finally came to take our order. Our table wasn't wiped down; a placemat would have been better! It's a shame the Hotel Gantois and the Meert tea room are so far away, because the service there is provided by professionals.

This is my first time, and I can say the venue is truly magnificent… the prices are quite high, but with such a beautiful view, it's worth it. The room is very intimate and dimly lit. There's plenty of space between us, which is very welcoming.

The place is simply magnificent: a building steeped in history, restored with exquisite taste. From the moment you enter, you're struck by the high ceilings, the architecture, and the elegance of the spaces. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The bedding was perfect; you slept like you were on a cloud. The spa is a true haven of peace: a stunning indoor pool, a soothing atmosphere, impeccable facilities… a truly relaxing and luxurious experience. The staff is attentive, friendly, and highly professional. You feel welcomed and valued from the beginning to the end of your stay. An exceptional place that I wholeheartedly recommend. We will definitely be back!

The setting is sumptuous, the suite magnificent, the spa equally so, and this certainly deserves 5 stars. But what brings the average down is the service... it was extremely difficult to get a table at the hotel. Although the reservation had been made by phone, it hadn't been registered, and we had to insist strongly before the hotel would allow us to eat there. The meal was very disappointing, good but completely overrated: a cocktail (very good) with a few cheese biscuits, a vol-au-vent, followed by shredded confit lamb served with three baby carrots and a Snickers bar for 89 euros... a rather sad menu for Valentine's Day. I felt like I was eating at my grandmother's house on a Sunday lunchtime... On the other hand, the restaurant staff were excellent. The parking fee (24 euros) is also high considering the price of the stay. We assumed that this type of establishment maintained its standard for "regular" dates; we were wrong... if we return, it won't be for this type of occasion.

Good evening. I stopped by the bar on February 14th, and it's disappointing in such a beautiful establishment to have staff running around so much and not taking the time to properly serve customers. This isn't what one expects when staying in a four-star hotel. Please think about your staff and the customer service.
