La Gare sur Bayeux

Inexpensive, very friendly hotel in an ideal location right next to the train station. All of the city's attractions are within walking distance. The room is a bit old and quite small (shower and toilet were added later), but well maintained and very colorful. The mattress was comfortable. Since it was warm and we slept with the window open, the traffic got a little louder in the morning. An inexpensive French breakfast was served downstairs in the relaxed bar, which is obviously family-run and frequented by locals in the morning. The hotel has been family-run for several generations. The operator was extremely hospitable and had a lot of history to tell. He was also gallant and carried the heavy bag upstairs for our friend who was traveling with us.

Very well received, with a smile the little dog in a stroller was very well received. The boss has a smile, the dishes are really fresh, the meat is perfectly cooked, blue as I like it and hot on the outside, the green beans are delicious, tender, I highly recommend. We came for lunch for the first time and we were charmed by Francis during our meal. This gave us the idea of ​​coming to stay a little longer, and we don't regret it because Francis is still great. The room is a little dated but very comfortable and very functional since we are only there to sleep. perfect location and small courtyard for the car which adds a little extra to the service. we no longer book in large groups. Now that we know this hotel. We will come back to see Francis very regularly.

Came by chance to have breakfast there, we were so well received that we decided to spend a night there. So indeed the rooms are not the best, they are not air-conditioned, but for one night it is sufficient. For my part, I prefer to work with small establishments rather than large groups, everyone has their own point of view.

With my husband and my son, we ate there for lunch (and very, very well). I didn't "enjoy" the show, I just really appreciated the way the waiter was and probably the boss at the same time. Nowadays it is complicated to deal with the public, you have courage. Above all, don't change anything!!!!! Thank you for this moment

We arrived at 9:30 PM. The proprietress checked us into our clean, simple and comfortable room right away. Breakfast with the local laborers was charming. We also got lunch here to go.
