La Gourmandine sur Chatillon-Sur-Chalaronne

A wonderful discovery. A magical place, a tempting and well-balanced daily menu, and excellent presentation and portion sizes. You eat with your eyes first. The bread is also delicious. And all this, knowing that I'm picky (or demanding ;)), the glasses, dishes, and cutlery were clean (which isn't always the case). Pleasant service. I highly recommend it. A calm and friendly atmosphere guaranteed.

Our meal took place by the water, in a calm and pleasant setting. The refined and delicate cuisine completed this picture worthy of a great painter. If you have the chance to go there, you too will be... captivated... 😉👍

We had a very pleasant time enjoying an excellent meal. The management and all the staff are very friendly. We enjoyed relaxing on the terrace overlooking the Chalaronne River.

Chance really does work out well, because it was while turning a corner that we found ourselves reading the menu of this restaurant. Everything was perfect, starting with its location: a shaded terrace on the edge of a canal, an invitation to well-being in this season. The rest was just as good. A small glass of sparkling rosé Cerdon as an aperitif, followed by a shared starter of Dombes carp goujonnettes, a true fish dish in the form of thin strips, a real discovery and a pleasure to share in terms of both texture and taste. For the main course, a sublime supreme of Prince des Dombes chicken with morels, simply divine. We couldn't even finish dessert, as the dishes were so delicious and generous. And a big thank you to the very friendly and professional waitress. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

An elegant, shaded terrace overlooking the river. We had lunch, opting for the set menu: a Gourmet Salad with rice, a crème brûlée with strong cheese, fresh fruit (a generous slice of pineapple), and salad. Delicious! The (original) combination worked wonderfully. The dessert of the day was a revisited tiramisu with fresh raspberries. Again, a delight. Warm and enthusiastic service. A fantastic place. Don't hesitate to explore this generally well-preserved medieval village.

Hello, Very warm welcome, lovely setting, good home cooking, but... we were served two children's meals instead of two adult meals: the portions were very small considering the price... No rice with fish or starchy foods, just a handful of vegetables... we weren't on a diet, which was a shame. The wait was long, and we also didn't order the desserts at... 9.5 euros!!?
