We loved it! The food was delicious! The medieval atmosphere (servers' outfits, music, tableware, and decor) was wonderful. It was a Saturday night, the restaurant was packed, and there was only one waitress. She was very efficient, but there was inevitably a bit of a wait; the meal lasted two hours. There was one waiter for the upstairs area. This is the second time we've eaten there, and we'll definitely be back!

Children's menu available for €15.
We stumbled upon this restaurant on our holiday trip because it was open on Sundays and they agreed to serve us close to closing time, without a reservation.
Avoid if you're looking for quick service.
Allow approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes for your meal.

We came for lunch with a group of friends to whom I was showing Montreuil-Bellay and its castle. A pleasant experience. Original menu and a warm welcome. Definitely worth a visit if you're stopping in Montreuil!

Excellent! An unforgettable moment, a world away from time and everyday life, with traditional and very tasty cuisine. We truly loved the meal, the setting, and the friendliness of the owner. We sincerely recommend dining at the gateway to the Middle Ages.

We were looking for "à manger des fouets" with a friend and we weren't disappointed. The medieval theme is everywhere, from the decor, the tableware, the staff's attire, and the meal was very immersive. The music isn't unpleasant either, and the sound isn't distracting; we can hear ourselves talking.
The service is set menus, with a choice of drinks, appetizers, starters, main course, and dessert. The fouées are unlimited. It was very good.
I would like to congratulate the waitress who was alone serving the large dining room downstairs. She was attentive to our requests, kept a smile, and offered a personal note to each table. It was very pleasant, despite a bit of a wait between courses.
I recommend it.
