I had the opportunity to spend a week there in mid-December. A place that has stood the test of time while retaining its splendor.
It's in the middle of nowhere and far from everything.
The rooms:
Almost nothing to complain about. It's clean. It's well-maintained. A bottle of water would be a nice addition. And perhaps tea or coffee making facilities in the room.
Excellent breakfast.
The restaurant:
(3 meals during the week)
The dishes are carefully prepared and very good. It's certainly expensive, but you understand why. Kudos to the chefs.
The major downside was a waiter's unfunny joke. I was asked upon arrival if I was there to play tennis.
The spa:
Some showers have no hot water. The footbath is broken at the entrance. The flotation tank is overflowing into the wall. The pool is quite cold.
The main ventilation bar blows air onto the row of lounge chairs. What are the spotlights above the jacuzzi for?
The color of the spotlights in the hammam?
On the plus side, I was almost alone the whole time.
This is our third time returning to La Grange de Condé, and every December it's become our little annual tradition! 😄
The restaurant is still excellent, with high-quality ingredients, and we especially loved the spit-roasted suckling pig—it was delicious.
The staff is lovely and welcoming, making each visit a real pleasure.
We can't wait to go back next year! ❤️🎄
Lilian perfectly organized the company's end-of-year meal; the food was excellent and plentiful. A delightful time was had by all, enjoyed by everyone! Well done!
