A small restaurant in the center. We stopped here for a meal after visiting the town. The food was good. We sat at the tables outside. Everything was pleasant. The gelato was also very good.

Riquewihr, en Alsace, est victime du surtourisme.
Un lundi en journée : il y a beaucoup de monde, mais les restaurants restent étrangement calmes.
Ici, il faut accompagner le Crémant rosé avec de l’eau du robinet! 🥂
Impossible de venir en Alsace sans déguster une bonne choucroute.
Pour finir, une crème brûlée accompagnée d’un espresso.
Parce qu’il y a toujours une place pour le dessert!

The restaurant is located on a side street in the upper part of town. We arrived just before it opened for the evening, so the entire outdoor seating area was available. The menu thankfully included the usual Alsatian specialties such as baeckeoffe, choucroute, and various tarte flambées. The service was friendly and attentive. However, we found the quality of the food to be, at best, average. Of course, a restaurant can prepare a classic braised dish like baeckeoffe properly, but the meat was already almost dry, suggesting that it had been left to stand for an extended period. The tarte flambée naturelle was very sparsely topped, with very little crème fraîche, which also left an unexpectedly dry and bland impression. The prices are inconspicuous compared to the surrounding restaurants and therefore, considering the quality and service provided, very high and, in our opinion, unreasonable. For those seeking an authentic and regionally impeccable dining experience, a Winstub outside the tourist hotspot of Riquewihr is highly recommended!

I don't like to leave negative comments, but I was able to compare the flammekueche at this restaurant with the flammekueche at another restaurant in the evening and frankly there's no comparison. The first one was bland and tasteless; you even wonder if it wasn't industrially produced. They shouldn't offer flammekueche if they don't know how to make it. The rest of the food was basic: breaded escalope and fries. The service was fine.

Sauerkraut of exceptional quality, superb baekof and a surprisingly excellent frog tarte flambée; the desserts were also up to par, the staff were very attentive and the toilets were particularly clean – an address to recommend.
