The comment about "our looks" is inappropriate, contemptuous, and completely unbecoming of someone who runs a business open to the public. A good business owner knows how to accept criticism and respond respectfully, even when they don't like the feedback. Given how you treat your customers, we can better understand the atmosphere you describe.
