The food is amazing, but the service requires patience. Come with friends to pass the time while chatting. Be aware that parking is very limited. First come, first served! For other parking difficulties in town, the Decathlon parking lot is a good option.

Everything is perfect! The welcome, the atmosphere, the food, the staff, and the service 🤩👏🏻 The place is simply magical 🌟 The menu changes every two months, giving you the chance to go back and enjoy the delicious dishes prepared by the chef, who then comes around to the dining room to greet you after service! So cool ☺️ A truly unique place that doesn't need any advertising 😉

Difficult to rate this accurately as the setting and food were good but the service let it down. The staff didn’t seem to be that happy at work (there were one or two exceptions) and the man on reception had no customer service skills - we wondered if he was the boss and his attitude was taken up by his staff (we don’t know). However, the cave is lovely. Nicely decorated and lit. A nice place to have a meal. And the food was quite good - not the best we’ve had this holiday but still very nice. Would we recommend it. Yes for the ambiance and food. We visit this region every year and we think we probably will come again next year.

Visited this restaurant for the second time. They had a new summer menu. Excellent food, top-notch service, and an exceptional setting. I highly recommend it.

An unusual restaurant in that the setting is beautiful. The wait was far too long. The quality was disappointing considering the price of the set menu (€53). The side dishes were underwhelming. However, the meat (rack of lamb) was excellent and cooked to perfection. The red mullet dish was swimming in an overly rich, multi-flavored sauce. Very disappointing. No compensation was offered.

A truly wonderful experience! The decor is impressive, both raw and refined, leaving us speechless. The dishes are a delight to both the eyes and the palate. The service is impeccable, delivered with a wonderful, cheerful, and warm attitude. I'm absolutely thrilled with this discovery; the prices are perfectly in line with the quality of the experience! We've been coming to La Grotte in Trans-en-Provence from time to time for over 10 years. Our last visit, in July 2025, was entirely satisfactory. That's why we wanted to introduce the restaurant to my partner's family this evening. Let's start with the positives: the setting is absolutely magnificent. The place is unique, timeless, and worth the trip alone. This is precisely why I can't give it less than 3 stars; it would be biased. However, this evening was more of a mixed bag. The service seemed rather limited, with a few clumsy moments that didn't quite live up to the expected standard. Regarding the pasta served in the cheese wheel, advertised as "all you can eat," we were surprised to learn that it was forbidden for another guest to taste the plate. In principle, why not, but at nearly €70 per person and €27 for a plate of pasta, the comment seemed a bit excessive. My partner had ordered red mullet. As soon as the dish arrived, the smell and taste were particularly strong. We felt it was important to mention this. The staff told us we were right to send it back to the kitchen. The chef even came to see us personally and confirmed, after tasting it himself, that the fish had a particularly strong flavor and that it was indeed better not to serve it in that state. Four of us tasted it, and the verdict was unanimous: no one could really appreciate it. Since my wife is pregnant, we naturally preferred not to take any risks. The dish was replaced without any difficulty. We also noticed that the €43 set menus sometimes seemed more generous than some of the €63 menus, which left us wondering about the value for money. In the end, it wasn't all bad, of course, and some dishes were quite good. However, with a bill exceeding €350, we left feeling disappointed. We remember the food being more convincing in the past. What surprised us most was how the situation ended. We weren't necessarily expecting a discount or a significant gesture of goodwill. However, after the various discussions about the returned dish, which the staff and even the chef acknowledged as problematic, a simple gesture of consideration—a coffee, a digestif, or a small token of appreciation—would have been welcome. When we got to the till, the matter seemed to have been completely forgotten, and no one even took the time to revisit the incident or offer any kind of compensation. It's a shame, because the setting is exceptional and well worth experiencing. But this time, despite the beauty of the place, the experience unfortunately didn't live up to our expectations, especially since we had recommended the establishment to our family who had come all the way from Castres. We might return one day to try again, hoping to find the same quality of service and cuisine that had impressed us in the past.

A beautiful Mother's Day in this delightful restaurant located in a surprisingly spacious cave, beautifully illuminated by the soft lighting. The service was discreet, efficient, and very pleasant. Despite a full dining room, there was no commotion; it felt very comfortable. The food was excellent, especially the squab with sweetbreads.
